Default Panasonic DMP-BD35 and DMP-BD55 audio disc compatibility update

Users manual located on manufacturer website here:

Page 7 definitively lists "discs that cannot be played in this unit".

DVD Audio - No
WMA - No
MP3 - Yes

Not mentioned at all in any part of the manual:

Also note that Divx and AVCHD files can be reproduced by the device only from DVD-R discs or from SD cards entered in the front slot of the device.

3 years old and obsolete. Won't play any of the late 2011 and 2012 releases.

Warning to all BD55 owners: Firmware update 2.4 made my player unresponsive. Panasonic said I should pay to ship it to them, then pay $105 for an 'upgrade' to a player that does not have comparable specs, the BD77 - which is only $85 on their website.

After 90 minutes on the phone with them, I am never, ever buying a Panasonic product again. Time for an OPPO.
