Yes, now we just have to develop the talent (technical soccer skills, e.g. ball control, passing ability, etc.) in our field players in order to challenge at the highest levels which will simply take time (a long time because the rest of the world has had such a large head start) however;

the seeds have been planted at the grass roots level and the U.S. National Team’s performance at this year’s World Cup, under the leadership of Jurgen Klinsmann , provided a big boost to those kids on the playgrounds too small or too short to play professional basketball or U.S.-style football and yet, aspire to be sportsmen.

8-bit video is archaic…. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...nk#post9395872

As regards to VP9, gives me something to look forward to in terms of higher quality YouTube postings…as I like my YouTube.

No World Cup soccer matches today.

To survive the ‘down time’, for southern California locals, after playing at the beach and taking in the sites without Triumph…

Until then, Friday brings us Brazil vs. Columbia (who is playing arguably the best football of all the teams that qualified for the World Cup tournament) and……Germany vs. France!

Hopefully it will be an option for YouTube videos and it was a nice surprise to find out that VP9 will get support for 12-bit video.

Indeed, as this is the only VP9 website I check in on from time to time…http://www.webmproject.org/vp9/ which doesn't really cover such information as you posted.

and back to Brazil (where I venture there has been a sudden surge among the population in regards to the anatomical knowledge of the lumbar spine), the live side-by-side 4K vs HD broadcast demos in Brazil showed more picture information of the match by way of a wider image of the pitch compared to the HD broadcasted image….the principle of being able to use a wider lens with a 4K camera as illustrated before at a different venue here

On the other hand, something not listed in the following fine camera article which is devoted primarily to the image acquisition for the feature film….http://issuu.com/sonyprofessional/do...xcerpts_iss/1;
Is that your local D-Cinema is provided (12 bits per color with equal color component bandwidth) for the theatrical exhibition of movies because the decoders can decode 12-bit color.

Speaking of which, other than 'Cav' living and dying by the sword in his Mother’s hometown of Harrogate where Stage 1 of Le Tour de France finished…

there is a bit of broadcast news from across the Atlantic over the weekend, namely 10-bits/sample rather than the archaic 8 - http://www.techradar.com/news/televi...proved-1256181

I know, right? Now all we need is for the Dutch to stuff those bleedin' Argies and all will be right with the world. It'd set up a heck of a third place playoff too; if Brazil get ruined by Argentina on home soil, there will be......trouble.

A fatal strategic miscalculation to think that they could play so ‘loose’ against the Germans without being exploited. Even Thiago Silva couldn’t have saved them with that game plan.
