Can't wait to hear some opinions on PQ of The Last Man on Earth and House on Haunted Hill. These two are the highlight of this set, IMO.

I'll be damned, you're right. See pics...

Also just finished watching Last Man On Earth, detail is good, but no scratch, dirt, hair, clean-up appears to have been done at all. Snowing from beginning to end, not horrible during later half of movie . I was hoping for a better print, only a restoration would improve things. Still happy to have it back in my collection however. I also can't remember what my old MGM DVD version of this looked like, so I have no valid comparison.

Here are a few more case pics, sorry about the quality. You know what the front looks like already.

32 Page Booklet - The first 14 Pages contain text with a few pics. The rest have assorted stills and poster art from all 7 films. Booklet is stapled, and front is the same as slip-case cover.

I think you're going to be very happy with it. I'm no reviewer but it looks really good. Blacks, contrast and detail are great and there was virtually no damage. The audio was really solid too.

edit: what a great movie, btw. This was my first time and I freaking loved it.

A) flip a coin

B) decide primarily on price (hahahaha, get it?)

C) the first volume is weighted more heavily toward the Poe/Corman/Hammer-esque films. The second is a little more varied.

Extremely pleased that they worked with WB on that disc. Means it will have some actual quality to it, as it sounds like it does.

So does anyone think that WB might release House on Haunted Hill separately, perhaps next fall/Halloween season? I love this movie, but not into some of the other films.

When I saw it on a disc by itself that was my first thought. I'm not sure when, but I'd be very surprised if WB doesn't release it by itself at some point.

I do recommend getting Vol 1 sometime in the future if you find a good price. It is also worth having.

I'm curious to find out whether they tried to fix the jump/cut in Comedy Of Terrors that happens on the dvd around the 40 minute mark

Looks like the answer is no
From DVD Drive in's review of the set:
The transfer of COMEDY presented here, like MGM’s DVD edition, is still missing a shot when Price and Lorre are seen sitting on top of Rathbone’s coffin, with Rathbone pushing the lid up so they go flying up onto the floor. Here, it just cuts to a shot of Price and Lorre hitting the floor for no apparent reason (the scene was last shown intact on the old Image Entertainment laserdisc edition).
