Default Chevy Chase on Blu-ray - The Official Thread

He's Chevy Chase, and We're Not

Here's the official guide to Blu-ray releases featuring who I think is one of the funniest men ever to grace the planet; Cornelius Crane Chase, or as we know him better - Chevy Chase. This man was giant in the comedy scene when the genre thrived. You can't imagine the 80's without the huge dent Chevy put into the comedy genre in that decade with classics like the three National Lampoon Vacation movies, Spies Like Us, Three Amigos!, Caddyshack and of course his personal favorite - Fletch!

Use this thread to discuss this comedy genius, to compare the different releases of his movies and to break the news when another one of his movies gets the well-deserved Blu-ray treatment.

The fine print:

If there's no flag next to the title of the movie, it means it has been released in America and possibly other countries as well around the world. If there is a flag next to it, it has been released in that country and perhaps a few other ones, but not in America.

At the moment, the following Chevy Chase movies has been released in and/or outside of North America on Blu-ray:

Caddyshack (1980)

Review

National Lampoon's Vacation (1983)

Spies Like Us (1985)

Review

Review

As always, keep coming back for updates!

Seems Like Old Times and Foul Play are both day one purchases for me if they're ever released.

Also Fletch Lives is available with Fletch in Germany. I own it.

How long ago did you buy it? Did yours come with the slipcover? I'm going to order one but would like to get a copy with the slipcover if they are still in print.

Underrated gem, isn't it? And to think that's the movie that started the downfall of his career.

Things are never going to be set right in this world until Foul Play (1978) is released on Blu-ray.

We definitely need more Chevy Chase on blu. We need Fletch Lives, Seems Like Old Times, Foul Play, Modern Problems, Nothing But Trouble & Caddyshack 2.

Yes, I know Caddyshack 2 was pretty bad but Chevy was still hilarious. He stole the film!

I've got your back on this one. I'd buy Caddyshack 2 on Blu-ray.

Chevy Chase has the best scene in the whole film...

"This place is what the world would have looked like if the Germans had won."

Chevy Chase: "Well, lucky for us, the Japanese won."

And his line: "We're talking mucho dinero, and probably some American money too."

During the movie premiere near the end, playing himself in a very brief cameo.

Loved Chevy until his career hit the skids with that talk show. Nowadays he seems to have lost the magic, but then again so has Aykroyd. Fletch Lives is a fantastic movie that brings back a lot of great memories. I also thought Nothing But Trouble was great and only flopped because it was too dark and twisted for most people. For anyone who liked that, I also recommend the movie Neighbors with Aykroyd and Belushi.
