The US disc being open matte doesn't bother me, and it appears to be encoded better.
Looking at the comparisons, I don't think the aspect ratio being changed is quite as detrimental as I've heard it made out to be. It sucks it's not what the director intended, but I was expecting it to completely ruin the film from what I've heard.

Someone at OHMB did a comparison; Resurrection is open matte rather than cropped.

Anyway, the Canadian triple pack went down to $24.99 at Amazon.com. Came out cheaper to order it from them than the Canadian website so I just ordered it. Can't wait to have my Halloween blu collection completed.

I checked out a copy and did my own comparison. Resurrection is also open matted. The menus are rather basic - just a solid screen with the titles of the movie. When you click a title, it starts playing.

The Canadian Blu-ray doesn't even have English subtitles.

I am sure this has been asked before and for that I am sorry but is the canadian triple features PQs really that much better than the ones form echo bridge? I have only ever seen the echo bridge releases(borrowed from a friend) and I want to complete my Halloween collection on blu by purchasing these films and the 35th anniversary blu of the first film being released in September

It's not a massive leap, but I would definitely go with the Canadian triple pack simply because H20 is in its original aspect ratio. The Echo Bridge release is open matte and it really sucks because of the way the movie was framed. The top and bottom portions of the screen really feel like wasted space, unlike movies that are actually framed for 1:85 or 1:78.

Better for the reasons stated above. Don't touch those echo bridge releases if you don't have to.

I highly recommend the Canadian Alliance version of the same triple feature.

The packaging alone makes it worth the $5-10 extra dollars. You get a black spine with the appropriate logos for all 3 movies. It looks nice on the shelf and matches the other movies.

The Echo Bridge version is blue and has scratch writing text. It stands out like a sore thumb.

For those of us that care about that kind of thing, go Alliance.

Curse and H20 look better on the Alliance triple feature than they do on the Echo Bridge solo features. Which is ironic, given that Alliance's transfer of H20 is 1080i whereas Echo Bridge's is 1080p.
