Yes but wasn’t that easy. I emailed them and let them know I needed the slipcover and they sent me a digital code. After about 20 emails they finally understood that I was asking for a slipcover. After that I received it with in 2 days.

Lol, of course it couldn't be that easy. I just never would have thought to try that. Maybe instead of paying scalper prices on eBay, I'll give that a shot.

There is a chance you got a retailer return from my Best Buy. Never saw this without a slip, but am 99% sure I don't see it at all now. I'll confirm tomorrow if it's still on the racks.

I haven’t seen any at Best Buy and I purchased mine from Amazon.

The transfers on the Dentist films are indeed old and could use cleaning up but I found them adequate enough for the price. One of two things happening here: In keeping with the spirit of the old Direct to Video grungy nature of these films, Lionsgate may be attempting to "recreate" that look for the line. Or, 2, the likeliest scenario: the studio may simply be too cheap to create new scans for films they may deem unworthy. If it's the latter, I'm really glad Neon City ended up at Kino since they're doing a new 2K remaster. Personally, I'm pretty much done with the Vestron line since I've already gotten all the LG titles I'm interested in either via this line or through other studios/acquisitions so anything further will just be icing on the cake.

It's definitely the latter. Lionsgate has been re-using older Digital HD transfers for their Vestron releases since the line began. Not every title falls under that umbrella, but the vast majority do. If an HD transfer exists digitally of a film you are wanting right now from Lionsgate, odds are that it will eventually end up pressed to a Vestron release.

Much to my surprise, I received Maximum Overdrive from Amazon yesterday with a slip. They must be reprinting these...

lionsgateshop@orderassistance.com is who I originally emailed. The email I ended up having the most contact with and ultimately helped me was help@movieredeem.com. They are labeld as Lions Gate Customer support with in my emails.

I think Chopping Mall was the only one that used a new(er) master as Jim Wynorski put in the money for an HD transfer himself.

Dementia 13 was also a more recent restoration too, since Coppola's director's cut never got a physical release until that came out.

Even though the HD transfer is hot garbage, I went ahead and nabbed a copy of Dagon with the slipcover earlier today since I got VinSyn's 4K of From Beyond heading my way.

Also, does anyone know what's up with The Unholy? Did Lionsgate lose the rights to it or something?

That might be, it's unavailable to purchase digitally from Lionsgate now too. The UK version from Vestron/Lionsgate is still available, but it's region B locked from the looks of it.

On a side note, I'm trying to complete my Vestron collection currently. Is there a superior version of Dagon to import?

EDIT: Found the caps, seems to be a no.

Let's see what happens when the UK import of The Unholy and The Lair of the White Worm arrive. I suppose it doesn't matter if they do, seemingly from promo pictures, the UK line doesn't include any spine numbers anyway!

I'm thinking they must have done a reprint on all of them last fall, because I recall Best Buy getting a shipment of the Wishmaster Collection with slip, sometime around September. Not gonna complain!

Pretty sure Black Christmas 2006 is now with Paramount, but don't hold me to that. No idea who has Scream 4, but the DVD was Anchor Bay which is now Lionsgate.
