Default Travel Cameras

what camera or cameras do you use when you travel?

I've got 3:

Nikon 5100 with 55-300 MM lens

but when i'm trying to travel light for the day I bring a point and shoot , which I just decided to change to a Canon SX260 (havent tried this yet so this next trip this will be my first time using) i was using a canon power shot (SD780) but it started taking blurry pictures.

Then my wife travels with a Samsung GF6. Saw another traveler using this camera and loved the pictures so we bought this too.

When I go travel, I usually go almost full gear. As in my Canon 5D3 + 17-40 L f/4 + 70-200 L f/2.8 IS II + tripod + flash and sometimes even the 2x Extender and/or my 50mm f/1.4

At the same time, I also bring along the Sony RX100ii as a backup camera.

Nikon D5000 with 50mm f1.4, Nikon P600 and SeaLife underwater camera (which also happens to shoot pretty good videos out of water).

An update to my gear list.

A couple months after I made the above post, I sold my 17-40 L f/4 and upgraded to a 16-35 L f/2.8 II. What a great lens!

I also have a Canon SX260 - 20x zoom - not great in low light, but it's great when you're outside and want to zoom in on a koala in a tree. The only thing that's kinda annoying is the flash pop up, I've learned where to put my finger so I don't block it - it gives you an error and you have to shut it off and turn it back on, but the first few times. I think the later models give you more room so you won't do it. Otherwise I like it as it's pocketable - I used to have one of the old powershots - the square ones - but I think it had 3x zoom.

I stil have a humongous DSL-looking Sx1 - also 20x - that I got as after that Powershot died. I haven't used it since I stop going to comic con and got my current canon.

I've got 2 cameras that I take travelling with me. A Canon 100D and a Panasonic Lumix TZ35 when I want something lighter.

Today it's a Canon 5Dmk3 w/24-105mm L Series lens. My old travel buddy once was a PENTAX K1000 and later on, an ME Super.

I used to travel with my Canon EOS 600D with the standard EFS 18-55mm lens + Tamron SP 70-300mm lens.
Tired of carrying all this stuff I chose for the Canon EFS 18-135mm lens which is a good allround lens for city trips.
This year I got tired of my 600D, since it was aging, and I got the Canon M50 with the EF-M 18-150mm Is STM lens. Great combination for city trips and it's alright for nature.

I would still use my 600D if I was to go on a nature vacation only. That Tamron 300mm lens is fantastic. The extra stabisation engine does miracles.

I have a GoPro Hero8. It is convenient and useful to capture video clips. That being said, it is not great for indoor or low light situations.

Also have GoPro. Bought an underwarter case for that so traveling underwater and filming fishes is good, too.
