I have been invited to a major college reunion in Philadelphia in early November that involves meeting old friends some of whom I have not seen for over 40 years. This is supposed to be on 5th and 6th November and so I am planning (and hoping) to fly out on Thursday 4th and return on Monday 8th November 2021. But I have not made any flight or hotel booking because I don't know if I'll be allowed into the country.
I am fully (both doses) vaccinated with the Astra-Zeneca Vaccine and have the approrpriate paperwork. I am also aware that a a COVID negative test would be required within 72 hours of departure and know where to arrange that locally. But the information on the web is vague and simpley says that the US may "relax" its entry rules to ordinary UK travellers like myself from "early November" but there are no specific dates or details. I checked with travel agents, airlines etc and they don't seem to be sure either; neither is the US Travel Advisory on the Gov.UK site which simly asks us to check for updates. Does anyone know anythng more specific about this? Any useful information will be much appreciated. |
