5 of the 6 movies I'm interested in do not have the digital code listed on the cover. Is that a reliable indicator that the code isn't included?

Yes. Also these are UK releases, even if a code was included it might not work in the US. Also if you're interested in the Blu-ray discs make sure they are region free. (4K discs are)

Actually 3 for 30 Pound Sterling is more like 3 for $40, + shipping...

No, they're $3 for $35 if you set the currency to USD. Shipping for an order at least up to 12 titles is $6.58.
