Default The BEST Audio Quality Blu-ray Megathread

Hey guys, this is thread is probably a retread of previous ones but I'm hurrying. I just got my Onkyo 605 today and Iam almost done hooking it up. My family will surely be curious to hear it play a good BD with lossless audio, so I was wondering what you think the best one is. I will give you a list of my BDs w/ lossless and then I will go finish setting it up while wait for input. Here they are, (not many):

Rambo
Batman Begins
Cloverfield
I Am Legend
There Will be Blood
300
Pan's Labryinth

Wow, a lot fewer than I thought, haha. My first instinct was Rambo since ...it's Rambo... and shit tends to happen when he's around. But it's a demo for my family so I was hoping one of these may stand out as having a lot of subtle surround noises that come through very clearly and significantly better than with lossy tracks. Anyway, if any of these and certain scenes within them stand out, let me know. Thanks, guys.

*EDIT* I Can't even get my receiver working.... https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...69#post1099869

I like Rambo the best out of what you have that I have seen... I have heard people say how good Cloverfield is though too. Rambo with all the gunfire will be impressive for you.

For sheer audio quality my choice would be Cloverfield.

+1 great audio i just did not like the way it was filmed. great story too. I wish they did not ruin what would have been a purchase for me otherwise.

I do have that, but I didn't see it say anything about HD audio on the back cover.

WTF?!?!?! '3:10 To Yuma' has DTS HD MA 7.1!!! It kicks some serious ass... especially when that train pulls into the station at the end.

Isn't it PCM 7.1? Anyway I recommend Cloverfield. It's earth shattering.

3:10 is PCM 7.1, not DTS-HD

I personally like Underworld, Twister(shame about the PQ), Halloween(very good AQ for a 30 year old movie), Black Hawk Down, Cars, all three Pirates, NIN-Live Beside You In Time, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds-Live At Radio City Music Hall, The Patriot, Close Enconters, and Lost Season 3.

Yup... That's what I get for typing in haste!

I knew it was PCM but typed DTS for some reason. OOPS!

Question The Best Audio Quality Blu-ray Megathread

OK, so I've got a receiver and some speakers in a 5.0 set-up.

I've been watching my Blu's now, finally able to get some serious hi-quality sound out of my PS3 and I've definitely been enjoying the difference.

I'm in the middle of watching Blade Runner and my ears absolutely LOVED it when Deckerd was shooting at Zhora...

Please list your favorite audio moments in Blu-ray land. I'd love to hear about your "Holy CRAP, did you hear that?" moments...

Cheers, Doc.

First battle scene in Master and Commander and the Transformers sweep.

You'll want a sub for that one though.

I have always been a fan of the end scene of 3:10 To Yuma with the Train in the background.

Especially in 7.1 PCM.

I love the oil-rig explosion in "There Will Be Blood"

Also the Shot-gun into the ceiling during Ratatouilli was pretty FAST BASS for my subwoofer..... the best part was how articulate it was.
