That was one bit that really struck me as impressive.

One scene I love to show directionality and realism is at the start of Unbreakable when Bruce Willis is on the train.

The second train that goes flying by the window, just after it passes and you hear a rattling throughout the train, there is some seriously low LFE as the train disappears in the distance while the camera remains inside Willis' car.

It's an exceptional sound byte that really makes your room sound a thousand years wide.
  • Live Free or Die Hard - right from the start is LFE heaven
  • 28 Weeks Later - when the attack starts, great LFE in the music
  • Deja Vu - opening boat explosion and Harry Greggson-Williams' score
  • Transformers - Iron Hide flip
  • Layer Cake - the Duran Duran/Ordinary World/coffee shop fight, incredible use of pans and changes in soundfield, an amazing sequence, albeit disturbing
  • Master and Commander - opening fight scene - so clear and vivid
  • U-571 - Depth charges

The initial foundation shaking sound from cloverfield when they are talking on the balcony and next thing everything shakes and the lights in the city go out, terrifying yet amazing.

I'll take that under advisement. Glad to see so many responses so far, I'm definitely thinking of grabbing some of the titles you folks have mentioned, let's keep 'em coming!

Cheers, Doc.

I enjoyed some of the gun shots heard in 3:10 to Yuma.

And Dave Matthews and Tim Renolds, from beginning to end

Hell's yes, from beginning to end no doubt - I love Tim's solo stuff on there too.

So glad to hear he's in the studio with DMB for the new album for the first time since 98's Before These Crowded Streets.

Kill Bill Vol. 1. The fight scene between Beatrix Kiddo and Gogo Yubari really stands out. Most of the fight scenes in the movie have such killer AQ.

Pearl Harbor: Attack Scene is pretty nice...the planes zooming by and the machine guns and the explosions. Really gives your system a workout.

Bad movie though...

House of flying daggers also has a excellent scene near the beginning of the movie too.

The high frequency stuff always impresses me more, but it's harder to pin-point those moments..... the deep "suck the air from your lungs" bass is just easier to remember the actual scene......

One that I haven't seen available on BD yet is Gettysburg and given what it sounds like in PCM 5.1, the Confederate barrage just prior to Pickett's charge would be absolutely AWESOME...

Godzilla has been a recent re-discovery for me. The up-scaling on it seems pretty good (most DVD's look terrible when compared to Blu), the audio is pin-point, the LFE is great, ect. Fun movie. The window explosion scene on Transformers is a great demo piece. You can play it over and over again and hear the glass fall all over your floor.

There is a scene on Incredible Hulk, when he is having a flash-back of his past with his ex-girlfriend (Liv Tyler)...and he is sitting in the exam chair...There is this really high pitch tone that comes across my front three speakers and it is AWESOME! That is one High Frequency Scene i can pin point.

Transformers all the way through, but the intro is stunning and so is the FIRST ACTION SCENE IN THAT MOVIE.

Incredible hulk whole movie :P

Sin City Sounds awesome in DTS HD MA 7.1

Batman Begins, ice scene, dosint sound all that amazing, but music makes that scene outstanding:P

My jaw dropped to the floor during the cannon fire scenes in Chapter 8 of Immortal Beloved during Napoleon's besiege of Vienna. The sound was awesome and house shaking. It blows away both POTC and Master and Commander cannon fire scenes easily.

The scene in Hidalgo where the steam locomotive is coming right out at you from the screen is one of the best demos for Blu-ray 5.1 surround sound. That is so cool with sound of the train coming at you, then all around you, and then away.

The stage coach robbery in 3:10 to Yuma is perhaps one of the best demos for 7.1 surround sound with bullets ricocheting all around you and Gatlin gun firing away. Throughout the movie, although mostly dialogue driven, it certainly has its moments when it gives a full spectacular demonstration of just what 7.1 sound is all about. The acoustic guitar sound heard during most of the movie is just icing on the cake. Russell Crowe and Christian Bale gave a stunning unforgettable performances.

The balancing stone slab scene inside
[Show spoiler]Mt. Rushmore
when Ben, Riley, Abigail, and Wilkerson must delicately position themselves or face doom in National Treasure 2. That spine chilling sound made as it seesawed up and down was just hauntingly thrilling.

I just watched Hellboy 2. Man, there are many great scenes in that movie!! One of the best mixes I have ever heard! The LFE, surround usage, dialogue, everything is just perfect!!!

There are a couple of scenes where you don't even hear the bass, you just feel it!!!
