Great review here. A total rave. Can't say I'm surprised - wizards be the 3DFA - but it's nice to hear the film itself is a lot of fun as well. After the awesome but somewhat dour Taza, I'm ready for a rip-roaring shoot em up type western. Bring it on!

Bob, please contact your friends at Kino and instruct them to begin sending copies of this Blu-ray out immediately. I really can't wait to see this now.

3-D at regular prices? What a concept!

I've been gripped by "a new kind of excitement" about this release for so long, and right now it's tantalizingly close. Almost like one of those pop-outs that seems within arm's reach, but you can't quite grasp.

That's a very nice review from High-Def Digest, they make a strong case for anyone even marginally curious to check out the film. They're probably using a different metric than I would, but I'm surprised they don't give the special features a higher rating, especially when one of them, Hypnotic Hick, would've already been a strong enticement to buy the disc, even without the state-of-the-art action spectacular that it accompanies. That coupled with the commentaries, the trailer, and the alternate sound mixes is more than I would've dared hope for.

Bob when will the 3D Film Archive page add a detailing of this release?

We’ve stopped doing detailed articles on the website. They are a ton of work and VERY time consuming.

Plus we learned they were not helping sales one bit!

Thanks again though for the enormously informative pages you did provide us with.

I know sales are vital and the 3DFA are in business to make money (or at least break even!) but I see your website as so much more than that. I have got lost in there for hours browsing what are essentially pages of cinematic history. It would be a shame if detailed articles on the newer releases were 'skipped' but on the other hand I fully understand the time constraints. Catch-22.

Anyway, thanks so much for what you've provided thus far Bob and maybe you'll find time to fill in the gaps at some stage!

I appreciate that, I truly do and I wish I could find the time to devote to posting more detailed articles. I genuinely enjoyed doing the research, collecting all the data and even cleaning up the images in Photoshop but it’s just too time-consuming and there’s much more pressing issues on the table these days.

I have a bad habit: I like to eat once in a while.

Another reality with the website, new articles do not put any food on the table!

I ordered two copies of this to help ensure future Golden Age 3-D Blu-ray releases. Ordered one from Kino and one from Amazon. I hope sales are great for this one. They should be. The trailer looks great and the inclusion of the 3-D Woody Woodpecker cartoon will make this one extra special. Cannot wait to get it.

You need to reprimand your team of researchers! A few years back I found your website after learning that Hitchcock made a 3D film and realising there might be more ďgolden ageĒ 3D available on blu ray. Having read every page of your website, I left a message asking which of your releases were region free and you replied pretty much immediately. Youíve sold maybe 7 blu rays to me alone on the strength of those articles, not to mention the other releases restored by 3DFA. I canít imagine Iím alone...?

You may want to edit your post. I don't think you meant to use "reprimand" as that means something like scold. I think you meant something more like "recognize" or "congratulate"... If I'm reading the rest of your post correctly.

It was meant in jest. Iím fairly sure they donít have a team of researchers. Apologies if my sense of humour isnít shared; it was not at all meant to be taken as bad mannered.

Haha, there is in fact a team of writers (Hillary Hess, Mike Ballew, Jack Theakston) but the research is my department. The entire process can literally take weeks of digging through multiple files to assemble the visual content.

We gave a BIG push to the four Paramount titles (Cease Fire, Those Redheads from Seattle, Sangaree, Jivaro) and sales were still disappointing.

Iím surprised the research only takes a matter of weeks, thereís so much info in each piece. If it werenít for that website, I might not have discovered a good majority of those films, or had any wish to buy them if I had. Thanks to all who worked on it and know that your efforts havenít gone unappreciated or entirely unrewarded.
