Thanks for the replies! Iím not a huge fan of soundbars either. Iím just thinking if I am itching to get better audio for a year in this rental, I could get a soundbar and sub. Then I got to thinking, when we are in our long-term home, I would probably get a proper audio setup installed. So maybe I should not waste the money on a soundbar and sub right now.

If you just want to get better audio than your TV speakers for the time being, I would get a el-cheapo soundbar for temporary use until you move into a house, and then you can invest in a nice permanent sound system for your home theater.
