I was going to wait, too, but I finally realized that if I wait for what's coming this year then I'll stop myself again and say "yeah, these are great but if I wait juuuuuuuuuust a bit longer maybe next year will be even BETTER!"

Gotta bite the bullet eventually, might as well be now. And $1300 for a TV getting reviews this good is just too tempting to pass up.

I guess I'm afraid if I buy now, I'll miss out on the new technology that's supposed to be coming with the 2020 ones.

With all that's going on, it's hard to know when the new ones will even come out. I may pick up the 65 inch sooner rather than later. I bought a new stand a month ago in anticipation of getting a bigger tv.

Do not purchase a TV until the price drops. There is no great demand for TV's in this economy right now. Let the TV's stay in inventory and gather dust until the prices come down. TV's are not food. Any TV you buy right now is overpriced.

Well, after living with the new 75R617 for a few days I have to say that I am VERY impressed. This TV looks amazing. I understand that it will never compare with the truly high-end LGs, Sonys, and Samsungs but, at this price point ($1300) it's a thing of beauty. I'm coming from a really good looking 1080p Optoma projector and even the non-HDR picture-quality on the TCL looks miles better. Watched The Mummy in 4K last night and it was simply astonishing how good it looked!

Bottom line: I am one extremely happy customer. Glad I finally pulled the trigger on this one. Awesome TV!
