Just played Blade Runner 2049 via Blu-ray 3D running through chapter 15, while passing 2:21:56 on my Oppo 203 and I didn't get any progress bar glitch.

Thanks. This is so bizarre. It seems like it must be the player though because it would be nearly impossible to have the same problem in the same place when one disk is 2D and the other is 3d. I’m officially stumped.

That kind of glitch happens on my Oppo at times and it usually means its time for me to clear its persistent storage/cache....maybe your player has a similar means of doing so..or a factory reset that essentially does the same type of thing.

You need proper "3D glasses" for a Blade Runner 2049 3D Party (whiskey glasses that is)....

They don't get more 3D than this:

Jared Leto's office (and in the original movie)

Left: Harrison Ford/Decker's glasses in the Vegas hotel
Middle: Agent K's glass in his apartment
Right: Police Captain's glass in her office

Does this come with slipcover? How many 3d discs are there for the movie? It is almost 3 hours long so perhaps 2 discs for the 3D?

I still honestly felt the 3D in Blade Runner 2049 is a letdown IMO, the 3D really didn't do it for me and was and still is unimpressive 3D for most of the movie, it was and still quite clear to me that this film wasn't made with 3D in mind as i was watching the film, it was one of Stereo D's weaker 3D conversions.

I would be interested like to know what are Telegram Sam's thoughts on the 3D in Blade Runner 2049, 3D wise, cause i felt this film in 3D is a huge letdown.

While the conversion isn't as strong as it could have been, it does the best it can given that the cinematography makes no concessions to the format.

All I have to say is that I watched the film in 2D first and thought it was OK, but when I watched it in 3D it was a completely different experience. The feeling of immersion I had was off the scale, and that's entirely down to the 3D. If you don't rate the 3D, try watching the film in 2D - it's so much worse that there just is no comparison.

I had the same experience re: the immersion, but for me it was 2D vs IMAX. I guess there’s an open matte version floating around, but I still want the IMAX on Blu-ray... and before all you Deakins folks start in on me, having an additional experience available on disc doesn’t take anything away from the original intention, which also remains available. (But let’s team up and go back to crying about Star Wars.)

Hey my friend! Weirdly, when I took the dog out for a walk the other day, I swear I heard another dog walker yell out to their German Shepherd, "Deckard!"

Thanks for thinking I might have anything of merit to say about it! I don't think I'd have any insight to offer beyond many of the knowledgeable comments in this thread though. Aside from the 3D, I rate 2049 as one of the all-time surprisingly great sequels (and, from seeing the UHD disc, a beautiful looking film). I'll put it in the stack to have a look at and try to make a video on my YouTube channel in the next week or so. I think it's one of those films where the main creatives weren't 3D fans - but there are many great 3D films that weren't shot with 3D in mind but the stereo artists still managed to pull some wonders out of the bag. So, I'll look forward to watching 2049 again, this time in 3D. Cheers!

I have the Sony 4K from the UK because it is supposed to be superior to the Warner 4K, is the same true of the 3D? I have the Warner US 3D, should I import the UK 3D?

Not sure if any variation on the 3d. Does the US 3d have atmos?

On the 3d, on a projector I found the 3d pretty nice, realistic. Not popout type 3d. More life like. Loved the snow at the end.

It does on mine. I have an Auro-3D 3D version as well (Remuxed both).

And IMO a great movie too, i might add, though it's very long i really enjoyed the film, great cinematography in Blade Runner 2049 as well.

I'm looking forward to your thoughts on the 3D in Blade Runner 2049, as much some people on here thought in their opinion that the 3D in that film is good, i honestly felt that the 3D mostly inconsistent and that the film wasn't framed with 3D in mind, it mostly lacked depth, even in aerial shots it also lacked a bit hyperstereo it looked a little flat in those shots as well, very little in the way of pop outs aside from Deckard's gun that sticks out of the screen for just a few seconds, it just a weak conversion by Stereo D.

Yeah, it's true even though films that wasn't shot with 3D in mind do have great 3D, the 2015 remake of Point Break comes to mind.

As I said many pages ago, I think the 3D depth is nearly perfect in Blade Runner 2049. Utterly realistic looking. Not many popouts, true (the snow at the end comes to mind offhand). But I've seen complaints about it before as well as saw it get an award for its 3D. It seems to matter what TV/Projector you use and perhaps the depth settings as well? Most people with TVs complained. Few with projectors did, IMO. It's a long movie, but goes quickly, IMO. I have a hard time watching something like LOTR again, but Blade Runner 2049 and the Harry Potter movies seem fast to me, probably because I'm enjoying them more.

I've heard a rumor all the Harry Potter movies have been converted to 3D to be released in China as the movie theaters re-open there. I can only hope they release the rest of them on Blu-Ray here....

I've the Aussie version. I can have a look at the video file size.
Offhand though it is huge. When I remuxed the Atmos to it, it would not fit on a dual layer disc. The Atmos is over 4gb. So roughly 44gbfor the video.

I think that echoes my sentiments nicely. I mentioned the snow above too.
