Assuming it's not a re-release, it could be:

Eyewitness (1981)

The Dead Zone (1983)

Target (1985)

The Morning After (1986)

Extreme Prejudice (1987)

Stakeout (1987)*

Last Rites (1988)

Shoot to Kill (1988)

Dead Bang (1989)

Hit List (1989)*

If it is a re-release, it could be:

The Osterman Weekend (1983)

Jagged Edge (1985)

Death Wish 3 (1985)^

Death Wish 4: The Crackdown (1987)^

I don't expect it will be a re-release, but if it is, I would think VS would want ones that were released a long time ago (7-8 years or more) and were barebones or highly flawed (i.e. the Peckinpah).

*Not sure if John Badham fits the above description. And I'd guess that Blue Underground would release Hit List.

^Trying to decide if Michael Winner fits, not sure. J. Lee Thompson is certainly a bigger "name" director, but to release Death Wish 4, which already had a barebones MGM release, and with Bronson dead? I think not, but who knows?
This isn't an exact science obviously, but I think most of these are near impossible for VS:

Eyewitness - Fox (so Disney now)
The Dead Zone - Paramount (surely coming from Scream)
Target - CBS/Paramount (Kino Insider said Paramount will be putting this out)
The Morning After - Warner Bros
Extreme Prejudice - StudioCanal (almost certainly coming from Kino)
Stakeout - Disney
Last Rites - MGM, but with Scorpion
Shoot to Kill - Disney
Dead Bang - Warner Bros
Hit List - as you say, Blue Underground seems most likely

Death Wish 3 and 4 are very likely with Scorpion - certainly 3 at least seems to be.

It'll show up in about 3 months... That's what happened to me last year at least.

Just watched Deadline. Excellent film! Very well made. The whole movie within a movie thing worked really well. This is why i love being a subscriber. Titles I've not only never seen but probably would have never even been aware of otherwise.

The Hellriders was also cool. Kinda doesn't go anywhere but entertaining. The VSA line continues to shine with me. More action stuff please.

Hot damn! I remembered enjoying DEADLINE, but I forgot a lot of the details. What a darkly humorous, bleak AF excursion into the terror of family life, fame, and the creative process. Those who haven’t picked it up, get on it!

Despite deriving from a 35mm print, the transfer is great. It’s amazing what VS can do with lesser materials (all while being upfront about it). Yes, there are random anomalies such as scratches and other blemishes, but overall the film looks fantastic.

I hate everyone who talked up Deadline.

After 3 straight nunsploitation flicks (over two nights) I wanted a change of pace before bed. But now I'll need to watch something else. Bleak doesn't even start the conversation. I wasn't a fan of the film at first, but the way it brings everything together at the end is utterly fantastic. Highly recommend this film, just not as a bed time story.

Renee Harmon never lets down for some god-awful exploitation entertainment. Hell Riders is no different. One highlight is the naked side-car girl who appears to be questioning all of her life decisions instead of acting. Plus Batman as played by Rob Lowe and Ginger from Gilligan's Island giving life advice...what more do you need?

The sound track might also be about 5 minutes long and on repeat...

For the average person in the street who doesn't know the company nor the cellulose triacetate degradation after which it is named, that is going to be a very perplexing t-shirt design.

"Vinegar turns attractive women into monsters?"

"You can tame Tyrannosaurs with vinegar?"

Etc.

Looks like my first order moved from Jersey City to DC after a small delay. Not that I don’t have plenty of titles to catch up on. Got my second order of Trashy Lady yesterday.

I'm curious why most of the 2020 releases have zero or dwindling stock on the standard versions (even XTRO 3 is down to 44) while the limited-edition slipcovers are all over 500? Seems like a reversal of demand from previous years.

Last edited by Westhille; 03-26-2020 at 01:06 PM. Reason: Near-zero would mean single-digit stock, which is incorrect in my example, so I gave a more accurate description: dwindling.

I thought they only sell the limited edition until it sells out, then the standard is available?

The standard edition is usually available from the get-go for $22.99 vs $24.99 for the slipcover version.

Some people don't care about slipcovers, so the option saves them for people who do.

Amazon, Diabolik DVD, Grindhouse Video, Hamilton Book, Deep Discount that's where you will find a large percentage of the Standard Definition copies. Vinegar Syndrome keeps most of the Limited slip editions on their site with only a small portion of those Limited editions allotted to the boutique online stores.
