One of my all time favorite childhood cartoons. It was also one of the first DVD sets I bought way back when. Hell of a deal!

I’m only interested in the first 2 seasons. Are those episodes the same that aired on TV back in the day or are they altered?

According to reviewers, they are altered. Here is part of a review:

You're probably also aware that the Paramount releases are cut; Spike/TNN masters for selected episodes of seasons 1 and 2, cuts to the other seasons for no reason whatsoever, and time-compression for selected episodes for all seasons. To add insult to injury, the uncut versions air on TV and are available on Amazon Instant and even still, Paramount decides to release the same cut releases into one set and for what?

So is there any options for getting the first 2 seasons on physical media uncut, or at least the versions that originally aired upon release?

So this just a set with all 3 bundled together, are they sealed inside pack or openned? Kinda would have liked a set like they did with South Park and Duckman if I'm rebuying discs. I only own the 1st set so might still buy.

Yup, this is the three individual releases, each sealed, with an overall layer of shrinkwrap around them and two stickers declaring "the almost complete series." You could resell the first season as new and sealed. Beware, the weight of the packaging leads to crushed corners and shipping does not help.

This has all the details of the cuts and which ones are on which releases:
http://renandstimpy.wikia.com/wiki/L..._with_DVD_cuts

Worth noting, the seasons you are interested in are relatively less cut than the others. There is no physical media uncut version (the laserdisc might be uncut, and actually I've seen rips that look surprisingly good); the Time-Life discs were less cut but still cut (in some cases, though, fans are complaining just about misplaced fade-outs or that kind of small stuff that doesn't have a huge impact on the cartoon as a whole).

I'm tempted to get this for my brother, even though the fact that uncut is a lie has always bothered me about these sets.
