Pretty good deal considering these probably won't be coming to Blu-ray anytime soon.

Amazon matched it. Let's see them put that in a bubble envelope...

Got it from Amazon today. In a box. Stuffed with bubble packs. And entirely undamaged.

It really breaks my heart these two classic shows along with Stargate SG1 will probably never be released on blu-ray.

Would you mind sharing your Jeff Bezos blackmail material?

Are the dvds of DS9 better or worse than what’s on Netflix right now? I’m assuming they are the same masters, just wondering if the DVDs are overall better quality for both PQ/AQ over Netflix

Just my opinion, I think the DVDs PQ is not as good as what is being streamed on Netflix.

Apparently my mojo only works on DVD's & Blu-ray's. I got the new Muse CD yesterday. The cardboard digipack was in one of those giant bubble envelopes... folded in half.

Jeff Bezos owns the Enterprise studio model used in Star Trek 1-6 (which is my favorite screen used Enterprise model and an iconic piece of cinema history) and just leaves it sitting out in the open exposed to the elements at one of his companies.

I ordered Voyager and the Enterprise BD set during Prime Day and they came in a box lined with those big air packet things. Most of the time I only have issues when I order smaller items then they try to shove them in oversized bubble envelopes. My roommate had Batman the Animated Series sent to him in a bubble envelope with a crushed box.

It's the upscaling effect. I think it's going to depend on your DVD player and/or TV. If one or the other does a better job of upscaling than Netflix's systems do, then you're better off with the DVD, otherwise Netflix. It all comes down to who is doing the upscaling and the equipment in question.

I will say that the Netflix upscale work is pretty good. That said, the special features on the DVD sets are rather nice, so there are definitely reasons to buy the sets beyond picture quality.
