It's not the lowest ever (2010), but it's pretty close to the lowest over the last year:

For what it’s worth, this is what IMDB says:
Camera: Arriflex 35 BL3, Panavision Ultra Speed MKII Lenses Bell & Howell Eyemo, Panavision Ultra Speed MKII Lenses Panavision Panaflex Gold, Panavision Ultra Speed MKII and Cooke Lenses Negative format: 35 mm (30 fps) 35 mm (Eastman 125T 5247, 400T 5294, 250D 5297 Process: Super 35 (3-perf) Printed film format: Video Does this mean they could process from the 35 mm negatives? |

Yes, they could rescan the negatives. Thing is: if it was edited on tape (as was the case for some shows such as Pee-Wee's Playhouse), it's possible that all the effects would need to be reconstructed. That's often a dealbreaker for some studios, if the foreseeable profit is low.
This is such a cult series. It needs to be reissued in HD. I would be happy with a full 1080p u-Matic tape scan (like the Fraggle Rock blu-rays). U-Matic quality is still VERY decent. |
