^ Nice find. I want the car but not worth that kind of money with all of that foreign text! I will wait for the price drop. That's the wrong car for that particular version of movie too

Somebody offered this to me in a swap a whole ago but I ended up taking the cash instead. Definitely a great looking steelbook but it is not the uncut version. If you haven't seen both of these movies yet, please do yourself a favour and DO IT NOW

Any fans of John Cassavetes

The Fall of the House of Usher (1960) IMDB 7.0 Synopsis: After a long journey, Philip arrives at the Usher mansion seeking his loved one, Madeline. Upon arriving, however, he discovers that Madeline and her brother Roderick Usher have been afflicted with a mysterious malady: Roderick's senses have become painfully acute, while Madeline has become catatonic. That evening, Roderick tells his guest of an old Usher family curse: any time there has been more than one Usher child, all of the siblings have gone insane and died horrible deaths. As the days wear on, the effects of the curse reach their terrifying climax. (ALSO AVAILABLE IN HORIZONTAL STEELBOOK)

The Attack IMDB 6.9 - An Arab surgeon living in Tel Aviv discovers a dark secret about his wife in the aftermath of a suicide bombing. Based on a novel by Yasmina Khadra.

The Painting IMDB 7.1 - A château, flowering gardens, a threatening forest, here is what, for mysterious reasons, a Painter has left incomplete. Three kinds of characters live in this painting: the Toupins, who are entirely painted, the Pafinis, who lack a few colors, and the Reufs, who are only sketches. Considering themselves superior, the Toupins take over power, chase the Pafinis from the château, and enslave the Reufs. Convinced that only the Painter can restore harmony by finishing the painting, Ramo, Lola, and Plume decided to go looking for him. Throughout the adventure, questions will follow one after the other: What has become of the Painter? Why did he abandon them? Why did he begin destroying some of his paintings? Will they one day know the Painter's secret?

The wife and I watched this recently, and it was quite good.

Thief of Bagdad releases (think Aladdin in terms of basic premise)
1924

1940

The 1924 version is a great popcorn flick, with some excellent sfx. I've not seen the 1940s version, but would like to at some stage soon.

Finally up for pre-order on Amazon:

To be released Dec 10 in the US, 1 BD and 1 DVD in the set. A bit pricey ($35.99 initially), but I'm guessing that reflects the enormous amount of work that reportedly needed to be done to bring the graphics and effects up to HD. (And, of course, the fact that people will just buy it, anyway.)
