Mobile Suit Gundam Char’s Counterattack (director: Yoshiyuki Tomino) is a theatrical animation released in 1988, and it remains popular more than 30 years later. This is the reissue of the soundtrack that contains the background music and the theme song, released in time for ANIME SONGS on VINYL (organized by Toyokasei) held on February 18, 2023. Fourteen profound and spectacular background music by Shigeaki Saegusa and the theme song “Beyond The Time” by TM NETWORK. Cutting done by Bernie Grundman.

• Remastered 1/4 (6mm) original master tape created for the theatrical animation released in 1988
• 3-sided panoramic cover art illustrated by Sci-Fi illustrator Naoyuki Katoh, known for his work on “Space Battleship Yamato”, “Legend of the Galactic Heroes”, and others for the mechanic design, as well as “Legend of the Galactic Heroes” and “Guin Saga”

Does anyone know if the jp releases of witch from mercury have English subs? Cd Japan and Amazon jp say no, but not sure if they just haven't reported it yet or not. I find it odd as all other recent Gundam releases have essentially gotten English subs (origin, Hathaway, cucuruz)

I'm honestly starting to get worried about future releases. It has been awhile and we haven't heard anything for quite a bit.

I'm really hoping the Rightstuf buyout didn't impact the Nozomi deal. I'd still like to see Twilight Axis, Hathaway, and the G-reco movies be official stateside releases.

The Nozomi deal was one key point of the buyout, though I couldn't say if it was any bigger than the more obviously important ones. The Gundam stuff is all essentially under one roof now and I suspect the Nozomi licenses for the older stuff will be transferred to whatever arm of the Sony Otaku Octopus is going to be releasing Anime on disc, after the RightStuf branded discs go OOP and sell out, which will happen with sales down the line.

In any case, I’m glad I got all of the Gundam Ultra sets when I did. It’s certainly possible Crunchyroll could re-release the Gundam series on blu-ray again with their brand a few years from now. However, I don’t see Crunchyroll doing another ultra set for Gundam unless a super popular series comes along…

Come to think of it, it could be possible Crunchyroll will have Rightstuf create collectors sets in the future. Rightstuf certainly has done well with that.

Many things are still up in the air with what will happen…

Rightstuf/Nozomi has the rights to release CDI, but there's been no word of a disc release. For those who haven't seen it, it's pretty good and it fits with the MSG Origin anime in style and continuity.

Personally I’ve been patiently waiting forever for 4k CCA and the original trilogy to be released stateside if they ever will.

The lack of any news for the Blu-ray release of SD GUNDAM SANGOKUDEN Brave Battle Warriors is worrying, it should be long enough after the Japanese releases by now.
