Default SteelBook™ loaner

Do you guys loan out movies to friends? If so, do you DARE lend them a steelbook?

I personally don't let them borrow the case, but I do put the disc in a spare amaray case for them.

Just curious if anyone here dares to let the steelbooks leave their premises?

I've never been asked to, but if I was, they wouldn't be borrowing the case, that's for sure.

Really?
Why?

Steelbook lose all their value when they get dented or scratched, standard cases don't.

yeah, I wondering that too metsfan, but to each their own.

I actually open many of my steelbooks cause I watch the movies repeatedly. So of the ones I open, I have no problem loaning the actual disc out. Steelbook cases themselves are always stored in plastic bags from bagsunlimited, even all my regular dvd steelbooks.

Also, due to finding hidden damage under the paper backing more times then not, I am always inclined to try to feel through the paper and if I feel anything funky, I open it. Never had a problem exchanging a dented opened steel for another copy.

I am okay with lending my movies to people but they have to be friends I am always in contact with. I absolutely cannot lend to people I meet like 2 times a year???
That being said, I DO NOT lend my steelbooks to anyone. U can borrow the disc not the steelbook.

I've done it a few times, loan out a Steelbook, to my nephew. He knows how anal I am, and I told him that if it came back in any condition other than the way it left, he just bought it for triple what I paid for it. That was also 'cos I knew I could still find it.

Other than that, the SteelBook stays home with me, and I let them borrow the disc, with pretty much the same warning about the disc. I also don't lend out movies that are in digipaks. I have a few spare amarays, and I'll put the movie in an amaray case and leave the digipak in my home also. Slipcovers don't leave with the case either.

I've been burned a few times with family members borrowing movies, but I think I've since trained them well by now. I don't mind them borrowing them, so long as I get them back in the same condition. I figure the more people that enjoy the movie, the better.
