Universal Studios Prince Of Egypt

Amazon.DE is showing a Blu Ray release for October 4th 2018

https://www.amazon.de/Der-Prinz-Von-.../dp/B07G1WXT6D

Also an article back in April says there will be a new master to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Dreamworks

"In addition, to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of DreamWorks’ “The Prince of Egypt,” Annecy will debut a fully remastered print of the epic film. The 1998 film won the Oscar for best original song for “When You Believe” and was the studio’s first traditional animated film production. It told the story of Moses and went on to gross $218 million worldwide, making it the most successful non-Disney animated film up to that point."

Great now all we need is Road to El Dorado, Sinbad and the Aardman films; throw in Joseph King of Dreams while we're at it.

Agreed. But let's not forget Antz, Shark Tale, and Over the Hedge.

I think Dreamworks would find it best to act like Shark Tale never existed. Hell, even they seem to regard it as a mistake.

That's not really fair to the people who liked it and want to own a Blu-ray copy. That's what these threads are about.

We need ALL of the non-franchise DreamWorks animated films on Blu (even the bad ones, for completism).

Finally! The Prince of Egypt is both my favorite Dreamworks film and my favorite film about Moses (sorry, Ten Commandments). This December is the film's 20th anniversary, so I'll be shocked if we don't get a domestic release before Christmas. If in the off chance we don't, I'm importing this sucker.

The DVD has a solid collection of supplements, so I hope those get ported over (and I wouldn't say no to some new ones). A new DCP was struck earlier this year for a film festival and was supervised by Brenda Chapman, so this should be from that. The HD version on Netflix right now is just an HD version of the DVD master (though it does look pretty good).

God I hope this is true, if there's one thing I was glad about with Universal getting DreamWorks it was the fact that Universal likes to release catalog titles. Hopefully Prince of Egypt is only the beginning and the rest come soon.

Hopefully, this new master is taken from the digital files used to make the movie as opposed to film stock. It bothers me when digitally-created films (this, Antz, South Park: BLU) are mastered using film, since those films should look better than they do. Unless the original data wasn't properly archived, which is not something that will be made public knowledge, use it.

You act like that's a bad thing. You have to remember that these digital files were created on now old, outdated software and will have compatibility and/or file corruption.
