The Fortune Star releases are way superior to the HKL editions in terms of image.

The Fortune Star edition of Police Story 2 is the japanese cut (extended).

The HKL edition of Police Story 2 is "zoomed in" but is the only anamorphic edition available of the HK theatrical cut.

What's the best BD region B release of The Foreigner? Is there a full uncut region B release?

Complete novice when it comes to Jackie but becoming a much more solid fan recently. Just bought and rewatched Drunken Master II. The blu-ray was ok, and I was disappointed to only find the English dub! (The stellar Eureka releases of late have spoiled me!) Is it available in its original version anywhere else in high def/is a new release perhaps in the works given the big success of the past year of new releases of his classic films?

It's not long came out on HK/Korea/Japan on BD in its fully uncut form with cantonese audio and OAR for the first time on home video in well over two decades, so that was pretty exciting for fans.

As for whether it will come out in the west on BD, that's a more complicated question because it would appear the rights are tied up by one of the larger labels because we haven't had a sniff of any possible release yet!

Yes, but they are SDH subs. Apparently it's standard policy for Warner to include SDH subs on their Asian releases, but not standard English subs.

EDIT: It's the same transfer ported across the different releases (HK, Korea, Japan) BTW, and you will probably find the HK release to be the cheapest & easiest to import.

But I'm assuming that's still at least a decent translation, just with added text for effects/sounds etc. right? Seriously considering grabbing this even though I just watched the Miramax blu last night.

No. They follow the English dub, which in places is way different to what is said in the original Cantonese version.

What's the reason for there being no Rush Hour 2 UK blu ray? I can find Rush Hour 1 & 3 and was hoping to get the trilogy for around £5 on ebay or cex or something.

When I was in France last year I had the trilogy boxset in my hand. So it does exist, unsure why not in the UK though.

That has bugged me as well. There's no Nordic release too. Only German, French and Czech releases in the "old continent".

Yeah there is strange choices by publishers! I got the German version, of course plays on UK players and all in English so no problems.

And the one time it seemed like a good idea to wait a bit for a "local" release, I have been waiting for years. The releasing companies are weird.

Entertainment's licence hadn't run out but didn't have long enough left to run to make it worthwhile.
