It should be interesting to see how this goes. I think a lot of people believe this promotion will be an immediate threat to the WWE. They've got a lot to prove before that happens. I loved All In but putting on a show and running a promotion are completely different. I wish them luck and I'll watch if they get a TV deal.

I don't know if it's going to be a huge promotion immediately or not but it will be interesting to see what kind of roster or ideology getting wrestlers to work there will be. It'll chip at their walls and keep talent from going over there but WWE's biggest "threat" is NJPW and that's not even a threat like WCW.... yet, if ever. It's another promotion taking away talent opportunity. But it is making US bred NJPW talent though. Long term this will be a big deal. NUPW loves the long game. Again... this is just not knowing for what kind of build AEW will have. They have a lot of money backing them but we don't know what that really means for the initial nature of it. Shit. I wonder what promotions it can work with? So many questions on the business side I have.
What will be interesting to see is what Jericho does. He's had a longer stay associated w/ NJPW. Something NOT expected by many but then he came back for Dash. One can't tell with Jericho. He's a wild card now. And IF he went to AEW? Shit. This changes a lot for how WWE may react from now on. Cuz if he leaves as someone who has been WWE for so long, free agent or not, but not goes for this? That's a big slap to the WWE machine considering what kind of year Jericho had. AEW, to me, represents something that may piss WWE off for different reasons. It may mean a bigger determination to a wrestler's creative and future progress. Something that WWE doesn't have in its heart to promote. WWE is a machine. And is a great payday, I'm assuming, but you're there and you're there for the length of your contract with them... that's it. Cody and The Bucks have changed how maybe more creativity and freedom to work on their terms may be changing the landscape of the industry. Again hitting a "new" territory ideology on it. The internet has changed the business for sure. I do wonder if this will have insurance for the roster involved. That is the biggest criticism of what WWE has. Lack of a proper system for their talent, which is rather embarrassing considering how much it has had and the talent that stays too. Just mind boggling at their level for me. As a side thing for me, right now, I do wonder what this could mean for women's wrestling right now? WWE has it down by just bulk and round robin of talent. BUT... again... quality. Main roster sucks. NXT is just a "feeder" to it. So WWE has done a lot to make it a bigger thing but it's just quantity and not enough quality. I would like to see more and more women wrestling get some volume out of WWE. I mean, shit... that 4 way at All In was damn good, save for how the count was almost broken and it got iffy for a short second there but whatever. ----- EDIT: via Cody's Twitter: ![]() That's a nice big slap to WWE's philosophy for sure. I love him so much. Dusty would be so goddamn proud of him. I'm glad I came back to wrestling cuz of him leaving WWE. Last edited by Mr. Chaverria; 01-02-2019 at 04:31 AM. |

Well hopefully some of those questions will be answered at the upcoming rally.
If you have Facebook check out this fan page. It's pretty much on par with them on Twitter https://www.facebook.com/AEWAllEliteWrestling/ |

Reports are saying Britt Baker is signed to AEW. With Mrs. Matt and Brandi being important to how it's set up. So that's pretty damn interesting. Mrs. Matt does have a business mind with how she's managed the empire that is now The Young Bucks.
It's not a knock to her but what does Nick's wife do? I always hear about Mrs. Matt cuz the stuff she's done but much about her. |

I think it's a little early to be putting AEW in with the rest of these companies. They haven't done anything yet. I remain cautiously optimistic about this but there's a lot that needs to happen first.

As you mentioned, there's a lot of promise. And I hope it pays off for NWA, and to AEW. |

All In was not an AEW show. Putting together a wrestling card on one night is a HUGE difference from running a wrestling company.

Maybe not on paper, but its really the spark that ignited AEW, and to say otherwise is silliness. Also AEW is promoting a sequel to it called Double or Nothing, how do you explain that? For all intents and purposes All In was an AEW show, they just didn't have the name yet.
Also, if you read back to what you wrote, you said they "haven't done anything yet". I realize they haven't run a full fledged promotion yet, but drawing 10,000 people to a show on your first shot out of the gate doesn't qualify as having done nothing. I'm not saying tomorrow a second Monday Night war is going to start, all I'm saying is its a good start. |

If they actually get a decent TV deal, I could see them overtaking Impact and ROH in a couple years.
ROH will not grow much more because Sinclair will not spend money to help it grow hence why they haven't tried to get a better TV deal. ROH is very comfortable where they're at. Impact keeps taking a step backwards with their TV deals, I believe the newest one isn't even a part of the Comcast lineup. AEW is backed by Khan and if he" spends it now and makes more later" they could definitely make a impact. if the rumors are true about them bringing in a couple legends that will help draw some casuals. It's hard to say they'll ever rival WWE but they could definitely reach TNAs old high point IMO. |

Yes. ALL IN is the big spark to what created AEW but it's not what is going to keep AEW going. AEW needed ALL IN to exist for it be created, the potential of what made ALL IN financially marketable beyond it. AEW needs to stand for the long game now. There's a major difference in what both (as entities) have done. AEW is gestating right now. One is a splash and the other needs to be able to walk and then run. Two VERY different types of businesses. |

Yeah I agree 100%. All In was a great start, but they have a long way to go. I'm excited about the prospect of where they can take it.

Via several reports:
Seems like NJPW, ROH, and AEW want to have a sit down. I kind of expected this but wonder if it could work. It's a very big deal if AEW got those two to play with as a norm. And that, obviously, WWE will monitor this rally. The boys do have a way to piss off WWE. Little tidbit that some WWE people will jump off too. |
