From what I've seen, they might buy a few there with sales or credits, but only so they can watch it in Vudu. Most people want all their digital titles in one place. Right now the only way to easily do that is with Vudu. It's the only one that supports UV, DMA, and D2D. Hopefully, Movies Anywhere changes that and you can port your library to any of the main provider/storefronts like you theoretically can with UV (even though serious UV collectors only care about Vudu).

What I really want to know is, when are more details going to leak!?
Why though, should it take a new locker system to get other providers to join? They could simply join the existing, established system. I am sure they could request and make changes to the existing system, UV, if that is what would be required to join. Maybe they would feel like they "caved" or "gave in" and "reversed" a previous decision and just don't want to do that. If so...man.

It would be no different to handing control to Apple. Exactly the same thing. Like I say, Disney would be concerned about their image by allowing 18 cert films in their locker. I suggested a year ago this would happen. I meant something LIKE Keychest though, not Disney itself lol.

Hmmm, only about 6000 movies? To put that in perpective, Vudu has 24094 movies

Where did you come across this list? More leaks please!!
I'm not too concerned with quantity yet. Only because it hasn't launched. Hell, I can't seem to find anything about it online other than this thread.

I would assume more would be added...hopefully. I am not talking about just new releases. I did a check of three movies I own in my UV locker that are not very mainstream, but might be known movies.
Dream a Little Dream, Idiocracy, and Confidence. Idiocracy was there, but the other two were not.

So will Movies Anywhere be available internationally as well or is this purely US only? I always thought that digital was a mess because of the various ecosystems, iTunes, Amazon, Google etc. It's about time this roll something out worldwide where all your purchased digital movies are stored and available to view despite which storefront you've bought them from.

I know I am repeating myself, but I can't help it..... If you feel that digital is a mess because of the various ecosystems, it is only that way because they wanted it that way. UV was created to solve this and have one locker and have it able to link all the providers that joined. All providers were welcome to join. MA isn't a new idea.

No, it will remain U.S only.

Dammit, that's the only thing worrying me.

If that's the case it'll be time to stop purchasing titles via my Canadian iTunes account and start using my US one more.

I'm sticking with disc to the death. Including 4K. Can't be done with all this for a inferior product.

Oh well, guess I'll be sticking exclusively to Amazon for digital purchases for now. I doubt this will ever change, the movie industry is never bright when it comes to digital, from piracy to this whole mess - with multiple providers not willing to play nice. I think from a consumer standpoint it's no big deal, just find a provider that is compatible with your devices and use their storefront if you want to go digital.

Even Movies Anywhere is bound to face some competition either from Google or someone else, seems impossible everyone will join, and will end up being the same as UV.

I would have assumed, with Disney, that would have been a given.

Well seeing as Touchstone has never been included in any program it is a big improvement to me.

LOL, they grossed over $3 Billion last year. That was $1 Billion more than the 2nd highest grossing studio. Stats here.

Disney consists of the following:

Walt Disney Pictures
Walt Disney Animation Studios
Pixar
Marvel Studios
Lucasfilm
Touchstone Pictures

I don't know how anyone could possibly use Disney and tiny in the same sentence.
