Default Do I need a keyboard for this MS Surface?

I intend to use it as a tablet but I wanted Windows. I've read a few comments around that you need a keyboard but is it required? Like do you need one for any specific reason when setting up? The virtual keyboard must work right? I can't imagine any model would not work without a physical one.

It would have an on-screen keyboard as part of Windows accessibility options at least. But like you said it should have a keyboard on-screen like any other tablet.

You might want to check out some YouTube reviews, they'd probably show what you're after.
