There aren't many Canadian blu-rays I want, but the ones I DO want are the following and for roughly these prices:
-Rob Zombie's Halloween/Halloween II theatrical double pack $13 -Halloween (Curse of Michael Myers, H20 & Resurrection) triple pack $15 -Laurence Anyways $17 I would really like to try and get all 3 in one order at roughly these prices so I can save on shipping charges because shipping isn't great from Canada to Australia. The problem is that with all 3 of these, they've gone into my price range a few times lately, however they're never in that price range at the same time. Maybe one day I'll be fortunate enough to get them for my ideal prices at the same time but it seems unlikely. Is there any other Canadian online shops that ship to Australia for a decent price where I may have better luck? |

I would just go with the US double feature of Curse / H20, and also pick up the single US release of Resurrection, which ports over the large amount of extras from the Dimension DVD. The only reason the others didn't have more extras is because no NA extras exist for them. And Resurrection looks pretty good, I think, the single release is the way to go for that one. |

The US Resurrection is supposed to be pretty good, but the other two films are better on the Canadian 3-pack, which has better compression, lossless 5.1 surround and H20 in it's 2.35:1 OAR.

The 6-pack "Curse of..." and solo US "Resurrection" releases appear to have better (slightly in "Curse of..."'s case) picture quality and somewhat inferior audio quality. H20 has the wrong AR on all US Blu-Rays. The solo "Curse of..." and "H20" only offer 2.0 sound. Last edited by zbinks; 06-27-2013 at 12:15 AM. |

I ordered Halloween 6/7/8 triple pack and RZ's Halloween and Halloween II (theatrical editions) from amazon.ca because they were both very low in price (the 3 pack was only $9.99 and the double pack was $11.49). Shipping was $12 for just these two items which was crazy but it arrived here in Australia in only 4 days! It can take up to and often over a month to receive things from the US amazon. Very surprising.
While it would be nice to have 6,7 & 8 in a definitive best release possible, the truth is that I don't love any of them. I thought the producers cut of Halloween 6 was excellent but the theatrical version... not so much. Halloween 8 is just plain awful and I'll probably watch it once seeing as I now own it. H20 isn't a bad movie but the late 90's/early 00's style is something I really, really hate and find off-putting so that always annoys me. I got the theatrical double pack of Rob Zombie's Halloween because my girlfriend hasn't seen it yet but we've watched other films that featured a rape scene in it and they (naturally) bother her quite a lot. While I really like Rob Zombie's Halloween films, I can admit the rape scene in the directors cut of the first one is just bad taste and unnecessary. Ultimately I bought both these packs for completist's sake and for $35.38 ($7 a movie) shipped, I'm happy ![]() |
