April 2023 is the 50th Anniversary of when LEMORA was first shown. Would be a perfect time for a deluxe UHD/Blu-ray edition!

Such a unique and haunting film. It cries out for a BD/UHD release.

There is a film coming out in 2 weeks called Laurin (1989) that I've never seen. It sounds like it may be something along these lines. I couldn't find a thread on it. But just thought I'd mention it to see if anyone is familiar w/ the quality of second run releases?

I have the German LE blu-ray, but I actually haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I think the extras aren't English-friendly, though. That's why I was planning to pick up the Second Run one also.

I think I'm going to order it on Orbit, It sounds really interesting to me. I'm just not sure about how second run is quality wise. but the disc is region free I think.

On April 30, 1973, LEMORA made its theatrical debut. We wish we could celebrate the 50th anniversary of this remarkable film with the announcement of a Blu-ray or UHD release, but the current rights holders have just stated that it's not on the schedule and they don't have plans on releasing it.
My favorite part of that quote is

Ok, well if you aren't going to do it, what good does it do to let it sit? This is always infuriating to me. License it out, get money, every person involved wins. Instead they sit on it, gaining no money, and fans don't get to see it.

Bravo!

This thread should've been nuked ages ago. It's for a release that is never happening - at least not from Synapse.

Or at least the title should be changed to "Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural (1973) NEVER coming from Synapse"

In the case of LEMORA, I will hold the old Synapse DVD - which I've had 19 years now - dearly until a Blu-ray or UHD comes out. I've researched this title extensively and have contacted different labels to pursue it, but most just seem to indicate that it's owned by a particular party and untouchable. I wish there could be a foreign release, but I imagine not while the elements and 4K transfer are with Synapse. I cringed when I heard what he said in that last podcast about why he won't release it but not surprisingly, his comments were different than when he asked about it in a previous podcast. I guess that's what happens when you make things up on the spot.

Sadly, producer Robert Fern just passed away, so are they still going to play the "rights issue" card?
