I noticed that this page was updated fairly recently as I check every few days. Before it was only listing updates through the end of the last year, now it has many more listings.

http://www.us.marantz.com/us/support...ctupdates.aspx

Still not seeing the AV7702MKII though.

According to the thread on AVS, the DV update should be coming this summer.

Yeah, that is what it says on their official site, I was just hoping it may come sooner.

I am looking forward to this as well. It's a pain to go separate cables directly to TV. I have to use game mode and mess with the audio sync in my Oppo to get DV.

Yeah, I am still waiting on the Dolby Vision update from my Oppo as well and the HDR10 is great already.

Yeah, for me I don't have a spare HDR compatible HDMI input on my TV since one is used by the Marantz and the other is occupied by the Apple TV.

so, I've seen from posting over at AVS that the DV firmware is now available for this pre-amp. i'll post back here when I get home and fire mine up to see if I get the download.

It should prompt you as soon as you turn it on and then takes about 20 minutes to apply.

Default Wow! Dolby Vision

Thank you Marantz! I appreciate this DV firmware update on my 7702MKII. I was feeling a little out of date with that dual hdmi setup (from 4K player) to enjoy Dolby Vision. I was thinking: I’m going to have to buy a new processing unit to keep up with the new video codecs. But Marantz came through...no more hand shake issues.

Now, do you guys think we’ll get that new IMAX Enhanced upgrade?

It really is amazing how long the 7702mkII has remained relevant. For my purposes (4k projection) it really does everything it needs to without a fuss. I will eventually upgrade to something with better room correction capabilities but I've been very happy with the 7702mkII since buying it all those years ago.

When you have time can you comment on the "performance improvement" part of the update? Thanks!

i really can't, that's what it was listed as when it told me an update was available. it didn't elaborate as to what improvements there were. it still works like it has always worked in my eyes. perhaps someone has insight from Marantz what "performance improvements" are.

Thanks, I'll do some research. I have NEVER updated my 7702. I fall into that category of user that, if it ain't broke and it's working fine, don't mess with it. Now "if" I knew what the "performance improvement" was, and for example it was an Audyssey upgrade, or something similar, then I'd probably jump on it

Hello,

New (used) Marantz AV7702MKII owner checking in.

I have been a happy Denon AVR user for the last 20 years and this year I wanted to explore upgrading my audio gear. I found this processor local for $506 and it came with the original box and remote and setup microphone.

I don't have power amp yet but I did hook up the processor to a monitor and did a full reset and everything seems great so far.

I'm not sure when I will find a great deal on an Amp but I also need to think about if I want to change and use more or less speakers.

The guy I bought it from is downsizing his system. Thank goodness for folks who want to do stuff like that.

Mine is still going strong and sounds great. I think you'll be happy when you find the right amplification.

Well, I purchased an amp to go with this new processor.

I bought the CNAMPX-16X60. It's used and I won't know how good or bad it really is until it shows up next week.

Currently I have a Denon AVR (750h) and run a 5.2.2 system. This processor upgrade invites me to maybe add more channels. I may go for 7.2.4.

I may bridge several of the amp channels which is easy with XLR to RCA splitter cables. It's popular to bridge 5 and leave 6 unbridged for surrounds.
