Default The Official Outlaw Audio Subwoofer Owners Thread

Please discuss your Outlaw subwoofers in this thread. You can include pictures, reviews, or any other comments regarding your subwoofer.

Manufacturer’s Website: http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/index.html

Question:
Anybody here have one? They make quality products and I have the RR-2150 receiver and like it a lot. Thinking about trying the LFM-1 Compact Sub but want to hear some opinions first. Thanx.

Thumbs up They are great!

I have the LFM-1 EX Subwoofer as my second sub and love it both for music and movies. The compact sub will work very well but if you have $150 bucks more you can get the next model up with a 12". They really make amazing subs at prices that seem too low but I guess that is the savings by purchasing direct from the manufacturer.

Thanx for the input. I think the 10'' model will be more than adequate for my room. It's only about 20' X 20'. I'm upgrading from an 8'' Yamaha. I pulled the trigger on the Outlaw today and hopefully it will work out. Outlaw gives you a 30 day period to return if not satisfied so really cant lose.

The LFM-1 compact is really similar to the HSU STF-2. I think the Outlaw was also designed by Dr. Hsu. The only differences to my eyes are the LFM-1 has a the port on the bottom of the cabinet, and the LFM-1's amp evidently has 25 more watts. Both seem to get great reviews...

Just make sure you do some reading up- while I've just browsed some over at AVS, I've read of some issues with Outlaw lately in the sub department. Sorry that's kind of non-specific, but I can't remember currently. If I'm incorrect please let me know as I certainly don't want to give negative press where they don't deserve it.

I'll try and find more what I was talking about tomorrow and edit my post.

*edit* Here's the thread in question: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...848339&page=43 nothing really concrete, but it would be good to give it a read.

The build quality is very good and I have pushed my LFM1EX both in music and home theater and the sound is fantastic! I am still shocked at the quality, sound, and the price!

Default I can describe how the Outlaw would look at your set up

I looked at your pics and your existing sub is very small in comparison to the LFM 1ex which is the largest Outlaw that I have. Since your existing sub is so small you could easily move that somewhere else in your living room; the Outlaw audio large 12" sub with 350 watt built in amp will take up that space where your little sub sits. It will probably be right about the length of that short wall below your thermostat and look very cool there as that little corner will be just one nice satin black sub!

Heh, I need to update my pics with my new PA-120 sub. It's larger but still pretty small compared to many subs. I just like looking at pics of speakers and people's setups.

Default LFM-1 Compact Rocks!

I got mine and Friday and have been listening since. Head and shoulders above the 8'' Yamaha I had been using. The Yamaha wasn't bad but nothing like the Outlaw. Dont know if it's the 2'' bigger driver, the downfiring ported method used or what but it sounds awesome. Dont let the name Compact fool you either, while it's not a megabeast it is a substantial unit and not what I think of when I hear "compact". Very highly recommended.

the lfm-1 compact and stf-2 are very similar. i think dr. hsu had a hand in designing the outlaw. if you look at the back of the subs, they're pretty much exact. the only differences that really jump out are that the outlaw's port is on the bottom of the sub and the stf2's is on the back. also, the outlaw's amp is rated 25watts higher...

I have the LFM1-compact. It was a huge step up from the JBL that I had. I am afraid that it has turned me into a bass junkie. So far the build & sound of this sub is great for the money. I got a B-Stock one with free shipping. Not a mark on it, and I have had no issues at all. Knock on wood.

Default Outlaw Subs on sale w/free shipping

Just a heads up. Their Subs are on sale right now with free shipping. Anybody in the market for a sub should be jumping on this deal. These guys are awesome. I just bought the LFM-1 Compact less than two weeks ago and they are going to credit me the difference from what I paid. Too bad I cant get the shipping charge credited because I live in Alaska but every little bit helps. Great people to deal with, great product.

I am closely watching their new 997 processor that is due out the first quarter of this year as it has some very impressive specifications and a unique ability to adjust for odd size rooms and speaker placement limitations.

I love my LFM-1 EX! it is one of the best subs I have heard at any price. I can not believe the price right now!

On Sale Now, Just $519 with Free Ground Shipping! That is a deal! I wanted two, maybe I can find a few bucks laying around?

I currently have a LFM-1 Compact. It is amazing compaired to my old JBL. My Kitchen is above my HT in the basement. It will vibrate stuff on the counters in my kitchen. My HT space is probably less the 1600 sq ft. It does open up on one side to another room. You can even feel the base in your gut. It will vibrate the light in my suspended ceiling. So you guys think it would be worth it to add another compact, or get a plus. The space beside my stand and in between the front speakers is not wide enough for a plus, but a compact fits right in. Would I just be wasting money to add more? I mean the deals are so good right now, I don't want to pass them up, if it would make a lot of difference. Not sure with my space size that it wouldn't be too much. Just looking for some thoughts.

Thanks

Default I'd get another but which one depends on the space available

I added the LFM1-ex as my second sub as space was no problem. Having two and then tuning the system enabled a more balanced bass response everwhere in the room. Whom knows maybe for you two subs might reduce vibration problems as the sound will be more evenly distibuted?

I think all their subs are great but the larger 12" subs are a bit larger but boy the frequency response is just incredible!
