Anyone looking to get a SUB regardless of price range should consider Paradigm.
Very well designed and always highly recommended by reviewers.

Briefly, my servo 15v2 is a superstar, I love it!
115 pounds with a 15 inch driver. 1500 watt amp with 4500watt dynamic peak.

You don't need a transducer with the servo15v2.
Basically if your source material has low frequency this baby reproduces it.
It brings a smile to my face all the time getting my ass kicked while sitting on my sofa. It moves a huge amount of air.

Before the Servo 15, I had two 12 inch 200watt each subs.
The servo 15 simply destroys(out performs) them in every way.
This sub might not go over so well in an apartment.

For you big spenders Paradigm just released a 3000 watt sub.

A few pics of my Paradigm Servo 15v2
Frequency Response +/-3dB from 15Hz, but usable output down to 12Hz.
4500 Watts peak, 1500 watts RMS, listed consumption on back is 1800W.
15" mother of a driver. Sealed sub.

Pulling it out for these pics made me realize that I need to give it a wee clean, and dust underneath my front speakers as you can see the dust behind the spikes.

The Servo is sitting on an Auralex Gramma ($49.95 from Sweetwater) to keep from losing energy to the walls/floors. If it loses anything, I'm unaware of it!!

I'll start my own gallery of pics later this year once my wife and I move into our new home, then I can set everything up the way I want it. Until then I'm not too concerned with wires showing, tidyness, etc.

what's up fellow paradigm peeps! Just picked up a pw2200 day before yesterday and am really enjoying it so far. 12" of wall shaking bass for sure. The pics are in my gallery if ya wanna check it out and drop me a rating/comment. Gonna pair it with the ed sub I have on order and bring the building down in a heap of rubble!

p.s. nice 15's above guys....once I'm out of my apt. that'll be my upgrade.

Nice sub - I came VERY close to getting the PW-2200!
I couldn't afford the Servo 15v2, but in the end given that I have no neighbours I decided to buy it anyway.

The PW-2200 is a very impressive sub both in the flesh and in listening tests - it gets low with very little effort at all.

The Servo continues to put a smile on my face two years later though - even when I look at the new SVS, eD, Epik's, etc., I cannot bring myself to even consider replacing this beautiful sealed sub, it's absolutely brilliant.

Nice set-up there swingle! We have a pretty similar set-up.

I had Monitor 11v4's as my mains with a CC-370v4 and I picked up a pair of Monitor 11v5's for only $835 NEW and moved my 11v4's to the rears - multi-channel audio is so sweet with floorstanding towers all around.

Default Ultracube 10

Anyone else have one of these.

I have had one for two years. It suits my environment wonderfully. My wife picked it out. I just bought a second. I will install this weekend.

Completely agree. Paradigms are a great value. If the economy hadn't tanked, I'd be seriously considering an upgrade to Paradigm Reference line, but my entry level setup is better than most, I would argue.

Love the color. I am getting tired of boring black on every subwoofer.

Default PSW-1000 discontinued???

I own a PSW-1000. I was a complete newbie to home entertainment, so although I did some research, I basically trusted the salesman at a local high end (i.e. not big box) AV dealer when I gave him my budget and said, "Set me up!" I have Paradigm speakers all around (see below and my gallery photo).

I have been happy with the sub, although I'm not sure that the phase alignment and the general placement of the sub are optimal. I attempted to purchase a SPL meter, but coudn't find one. I'll have to keep trying.

A couple of days ago I was at the Paradigm web site and I noticed that the PSW-1000 was discontinued. Does anyone know why this might be? I noticed that it was the only sub that didn't have the woofer behind a grill (the sub is one big wood box with vent holes in the back). I'm not sure of the advantages of the different types of subs (box vs grill). Perhaps a few of you can educate me, or point me in the right dirrection.

Cheers!

I just scanned over "A Guide to Subwoofers: Characteristics, Placement, & Adjustments". From what I gathered, I have a down firing sub. Is that correct? What are the pros and cons of down vs front firing?

Products get discontinued all the time. All of my speakers are discontinued.

It just means that companies regularly put out new product in order to generate revenue. Sometimes there is an improvement there, and sometimes it's cosmetic only. I would say if you were happy with your sub (which is down-firing) then there's no reason to worry at all.

...or go out and buy all new stuff and sell your setup to me.
