Does anyone know if the psp camera is coming here to the states? It seems to be out in europe already.

It's out on the 16th in Europe, nothing announced for the US and Canada yet. I've got the Japanese version (Chotto Shot Camera) if you've got any specific questions.

I would think that sony will release the camera here in the states and in canada sometime.

Don't know about the states, but if you get any version it'll work with your American PSP. You'll just have to wait for the US UMD.

What do you mean by the us UMD. Does the camera come with software?

Yes, for adding kisses, stars, annotations the usual rubbish to your pictures and videos. PSP software is region free so if you're in a hurry you could import the Euro version. The Japanese software lacks English instructions and isn't the easiest program to navigate without them.

I hear that the eyetoy for the playstation 3 will come bundled with software so it makes since that the psp camera will also come with software. Strange that sony added the camera option to the main menu with a firmware update some time ago, but hasn't release the camera in the states yet. I wonder if sony will release the ps3 camera around the same time that the psp camera is released.

I heard the camera for PSP was supposed to be low definition. like a 1 megapixel camera or something.

How much of this is true?

my psp camera is 1.3mp. it didnt come with software but u can get cool software from the net @ yourpsp.com/goedit.

I don't think they have announced it for N.A. Out in Japan and now Europe..so hopefully not too much longer.

I got mine from the UK, you can download the GO!Edit software from the internet.
It has been confirmed for the US but no date just like the GPS unit.
