Default The Digital Bits states Blu-ray stand alone players selling More than HD-DVD players

In other news today, our industry sources are telling us that for the 52nd week in a row, Blu-ray Disc software has outsold HD-DVD software. For the last week of 2007, the margin was reportedly 61 to 39 according to Neilsen/VideoScan. This means Blu-ray software sales have outpaced those of HD-DVD for the entire calendar year of 2007, with no signs of slowing down.

We're also hearing that stand-alone Blu-ray Disc hardware is now outselling stand-alone HD-DVD players, on the strength of the recent price drops by Sony and Samsung, as well as the introduction of Panasonic's new BD-30 profile 1.1 player. You can expect to hear more on all this, as well as strong sales of Sony's PS3 in November and December, at CES on Sunday and Monday.

Well, duh. I don't even care for the way those deluded souls will try to spin this -- I'm just looking forward to the hard data that will show everyone that it's high time to end the misery of the inferior format.

Oh, and congratulations on winning out over the firesale, Blu-ray.

forgetting all of thier post stating that they have not take a dime for their support of Blu-Ray. They (thedigitalbits.com) just think this war is bad for customers and that Blu as the best chance of winning

But Bill Hunt was a big DVD shill back in the day. He didn't want to let the consumer decide between DVD and Divx. He has a history of this treachery.

If you go back to my post from 12/23 I been telling you all that blu-stand alone players where outselling hd dud's by a HUGE margin. I don't have the exact figures but in 1 store in miami the ratio was almost 30-1

I am not surprised by this announcement at all!!!!!

He backed DVD, and who won?

Sorry... I think if I add the it ruins the joke...
and in terms of Divx vs. DVD it wasn't just who won... it was that Divx was a bad technology.
Further, with Blu Ray to choose, HD-DVD is a bad choice for next gen technology, pure and simple.

read is review of Divx. It is still on the site. It was fair and open. Your are right the consumers didn't decide between DVD and Divx the Studios did. The same thing will happen with the current war when/if Warner picks a side (we all hope Blu) it is time to cue up the fat lady. Unless HD-DVDers can price their disc at the same price as DVDs.

Well to everyone, Warner is Blu-ray exclusive!

So expect that lead to increase dramatically!
