Movies Anywhere in Canada (help/info)

It sucks that Canadian Google Play won't port to MA (Deadpool 2).

I did the same this week, I logged into vudu , the first time in a year, with hola and Annabelle finally Ported over.

Some stuff will port from Google Play Canada to Movies Anywere. Redeemed my 4K code for Spider-Verse (Sony) there. Only granted an HD copy in Google Play, despite a 4K version also being available (curse you, Sony!). HD copy was pushed to Movies Anywhere.

I'm pretty sure Fox titles will NOT sync, however.

You can stream Disney movies that are 4k through the Xbox and your Microsoft account if you buy them either through Microsoft store(legal) or link it to your ma account (grey area). I've done it with all the avengers movies

Thought I'd chime in regarding Warner GP redeems a did last night...

Justice League vs The Fatal Five 4K ports as 4K in MA (was surprised by this actually.)
A Star Is Born Encore HD ports to MA as HD (Upgraded in GP to 4K though)

One that confuses me is The Mule 4K which I redeemed weeks ago. It didn't port at all to MA (like Canadian Fox codes)...still hopeful it will at some point in light of the above titles porting.

Just on a hunch I decided to try and redeem my WB Pikachu code in MA, since UV has shut down, and it redeemed just fine. Longshot but maybe this is a glimmer of hope for MA coming to Canada

Interesting! Was this a code from an HD Blu-Ray version or a UHD Blu-Ray? Did your digital copy end up being the resolution you expected?

Little trick redeeming warner bros digital in canada. Always redeem it on google play canada. GP will upgrade for free 4k rights (if available). All my warner bros movies always ported to moviesanywhere.

Warner bros canada code are now working on moviesanywhere. The first 2 titles are : Detective Pikachu and The curse of Llorona. If you have a 4k bluray you will get 4k in ma. If you have only a bluray you will get HD

Like I said if you only have a bluray. Redeem in google play to get free 4k upgrade and porting in hd in ma.

That is odd about Batman Hush. Might be a case by case basis then.

I am glad that Canadian Paramount codes are still identical to the US ones. I was a bit worried that would change when Flixster and UV announced that they were shutting down.

We don't know right now. The real test will be rocketman, The first title available after the closure of flixster.

True. Most companies changed to GP ahead of time but Paramount could just be lagging behind and planning to change after the shutdown, but I am hoping that isn't the case.

Yes. I tested it with detective pikachu when signed out. Ma tell if the code is valid and the quality.

Can anyone confirm if changing a Canadian iTunes account to US could link to MA? Does MA import the content originally purchased redeemed in Canada now that the account has been changed to US?

You can’t change an account to a US one. You have to create a US account and then link MA to google, any movie you have in google will flow to the US iTunes account. Both my accounts are separate.

It is possible to convert your Canadian iTunes account to a U.S. account by changing the country, adding a U.S. credit card as payment method, ensuring you have no credit balance or active subscriptions. Once you have done this, your iTunes account will be a U.S. account and most content you purchased while in Canada will be available in the U.S. although it will be unavailable to download.

The question is whether after you convert your Canadian account to U.S. if MA will link and sync the movies you originally purchased on the Canadian store?

No I don’t believe you can change accounts, you can have two accounts. Some movies are owned by different distributors in either country.
