Double checked now. Definitely 94G2.

Thanks. I really hope that one's not bronzing then... It's from the same general timeframe, but I wouldn't think Sony DADC would purchase non-Sony resin.

I'm only adding it to the list just to be cautious. Again all of my discs so far are fine. However, after seeing the photos posted on the spreadsheet, I think even though the discs play, they are showing signs of bronzing. Perhaps Love looks like it's getting a bronze sheen on it to me...

Did Vicol changed pressing plant?
I realize I have several of their latest releases from 2015 and after (Casino Raiders, God of gamblers, Last hero in China, Better Tomorrow 4k etc etc) and I wonder if they will have the same problem

Are there Vicol discs that are affected? There's none on the spreadsheet, and I don't recall anybody bringing them up in the thread.

In other news, my copy of Accident is definitely bronzing (but it still plays) and my brand new and sealed copy of Lady Cop & Papa Crook which isn't bronzed doesn't play at all.

No Vicol discs have been mentioned, nor any discs in the 2015 timeframe.

It looks like there was one title from Vicol so far mentioned in post #26.

That's pressed by the company that did their later (problem free) product. It's only the earlier, color version that has problems (mine dies at the layer change).

If anyone has an e-mail contact at CJ, please post it. They've been very good at replacing defective discs in the past, but the e-mail of the person I contacted there (June) bounces.

That's great news! Thanks !

Just a detail, but as sonicassassin said earlier, a Vicol title has indeed been mentioned Black Ransom (Vicol), hence my question.

The only HK BD I have is Universe's IP MAN (a better release than the US or UK release) and that isn't affected...yet.

Here are another two movies I recently checked and there are slightly bronzed. Still playing, but it's only a matter of time before they're gone too.

Love in Disguise (Kam & Ronson, Mould Sid Code: 7T33)
Ice Kacang Puppy Love (Kam & Ronson, Mould Sid Code: 7T33)

The problem is that most of the bronzed discs are from Mega Star, but Mega Star is gone.
Anyway, I wrote an email to Media Asia about two months ago, but unfortunately did not got an answer from them.

Well... I'm sorry to have to add another title to the list but my copy of A Better Tomorrow(non-4K) is bronzed at the edges.

I decided to watch the film tonight and noticed some odd pixelation around the 1 hour mark(skipped frames, lines running through the screen). It continued to get worse for the next 20 minutes until I gave up. My first thought was either a disc drive or graphics driver issue.

However, after looking at my disc under bright white light it has a clear bronze discoloration around the edge of the disc. It's pretty minimal and only covers the very edge and spans around 1/4-1/3 of the circumference of the disc. Right now it looks like the rot is pretty minor, and unlike the PC my Oppo was able to play it without the pixelation.

Unfortunately, most of my HK movies were purchased between 2009 and 2011, so I will have to go through and verify them when I get a chance. It's a shame that it had to affect the one part of my collection that likely cannot be replaced by the manufacturer.

It's hard to tell with the magnifying glass but it looks like the disk reads:
IFPI JN61

Also, here is the order date for that disc if anyone is interested: 2011-09-22

Well, this kind of news is never fun to hear. I have a handful of Mega Star titles. I'll have to dig them up check them at some point.
