Hey BD,
Under the Monitor Audio links: They moved this link http://www.monitoraudiousa.com/produ...x/your-speaker to this link http://www.monitoraudiousa.com/suppo...x/your-speaker Because the RSFX has been replaced with the new RXFX and here is that link http://www.monitoraudiousa.com/produ...x/your-speaker |

Manufacturers keep moving things around in speakers, subwoofers, and amplifiers. It has become almost impossible to keep up. Unfortunately, a few of them have gone out of business. ![]() |

Concerning the SSS speakers... They are heavy but they look really good, when I was up at the SVSound HQ a month or so ago we got to look at a set, but they didnt have any hooked up at the time. I'm very interested in the bi-poles. I want either bi-pole of di-pole for surround duty but I'm thinking I want bi-poles for the front height speakers...not sure if that would be better that direct or.....? But the SVS SSS speakers were dang nice...a little pricey compared to the Emotiva di/bi-pole but I will say that they sure looked good and I really wanted to hear them. |

Of course now I'm planning on some Sig Digms for the front "in the distant future" but I'm really wanting these SSS, I believe they will be perfect for me. Anyone have any thoughts for Front Height speakers? Should one want to get direct, di or bi? Does it really matter? |

The most recent addition to Bipolar/Dipolar surround speakers is from the Home Theater Direct. They sell Level Two and Level Three speakers. The main difference is that their Level Three speakers have ribbon tweeters and are considered to be higher end. For years, HTD has been selling monopole bookshelf speakers for surrond application. I contacted a few days ago. They told me that they have been testing the new speakers for the past couple of months and they perform much better than their bookshelf monopole speakers. The specifications for the speakers should become available before the end of September 2010.
The price of the new surround speakers until yesterday was $179 each. As of today, they raised the price to $189 each ($378 for two). ![]() Their other speakers come in three colors: Dark Cherry, Black, and Light Cherry. Currently, the bi/di surround speakers are only available in black. I assume that they will eventually be available in all three colors. Last edited by Big Daddy; 09-25-2010 at 01:31 AM. |
