Unfortunately, I'm guessing "select Nintendo games" means all their big first party Switch titles, if not all their first party titles. Still a great deal. I'm thinking about getting both Mega Man Legacy Collections and the Fractured But Whole for Switch.

Is it still possible to rebuy them to get another game for free and take those two back with the first receipts? Or has the return period passed since you bought them?

Black Friday. It's not really even a contest - always MUCH better prices, unless game developers decide this will be the year that BF game deals will be for vaporware only and brick and mortar carrying less tangible media decide not to negotiate any BF deals themselves.

The mix-and-match means I can buy a game and get a book or movie for free? Thank you. |

Seriously? I suggest you read the fine print in the ads then because Target does it all the time. Its just that people don't read the fine print in the ads and assume that literally every game is part of the sale.

In the days when I worked full-time at Target (2008 to 2013), the B2G1 encompassed EVERY video game with zero exclusions. Even new titles were included. I have no idea why these promos exclude so much as of late.

Dude, there was a time they printed a Buy 1 Get 1 Free in the ad and honored it. I got like 6 games that year haha.

I'm sure the manufacturers have a lot to say about it. Naturally they wouldn't want to diminish their profits on newer releases by dropping it too soon, but they want their stuff out for the Holiday buying season. Of course, while they don't want to encourage the physical market, they can't ignore the physical revenue source this gen as much as they'd like to. Next gen will be a different story, if there is no physical option at all. They won't have to fret with pesky things like retail competition, overstock, the used market, BF promos... Prices will be more simply determined by how well it's selling. With digital, the only time the price will drop is when sells fall off at the given price.
