My only issue with Keys of Marinus is it’s Doctor lite episodes.

Will be even more suoer when the next 13 releases have joined them. I got rid of my DVD’s when it became apparent that the whole series was going to be released on Blu. Although I had started a rewatch of the entire series in the wake of the 50th anniversary - still going through that now although I’m up to Capaldi’s last season and then just got Jodie’s episodes to watch.

It just means that I have to rely on BritBox for anything that’s not released on Blu and I’m sure I’ll be revisiting a selection of favourites from past Doctors during the 60th.

I’m surprised The Massacre is so high considering we only have audios and a novelisation.

I suspect the release of season 2 on Blu Ray has seen a bit of a re-evaluation of some of those stories.

Also a bit surprised that The Mind Robber ranks so highly for Troughton as it’s a very odd story and its abrupt ending always bothered me a bit.

Strange how the Web of Fear and Invasion have swapped places. Invasion is another one of those stories which is a bit too long and could do with being a couple of episodes shorter.

Would have thought the re-release of The Web of Fear might have buoyed that story a bit. You’ll never forgetty the Yeti!

2.5 stars for the Hartnell release? Harsh.

Seems to be the video and sound that are dragging it down. You would think they would make allowances for the limitations of the source material and that this is the best these episodes have ever looked and sounded.

I've only been hocking the DVD's as the corresponding blu-rays are released, there's a lot of special features left off the blu-rays. (For the Hartnell set, every story has missing features.) So I rip the bonus features I want, then hock the DVDs.

As opposed to the useless Behind the Sofa segments on the blu-rays, I have yet to sit through one of those. Wait, let me guess, Janet Fielding acts superior and makes snarky remarks? Wow, sounds like essential viewing.

I don’t know where the information is supposed to have come from and if there is anything to it but I’ve just seen someone claiming that special features have been completed for season 6 and season 15.

Would be more than happy with the releases being stepped up a bit this year and getting season 6, 15 and 20.

We’ll see.

It suffers from rather dry and stagey direction, and is rather sloppy in its world-building...to the point when it can't decide if The Voord are monsters or men-in-rubber-suits.

Had enough of these forums, so I’m bowing out for good.

I would like to think that I make a good contribution with a lot of knowledge but when you get certain people persistently trying to upstage others with silly duplicate threads, and when those people have been responsible for banning people over the years - it’s just not worth posting anymore.

People don’t stop and think about issues people may have in the real world. I have severe issues with diabetes which has affected my health and can cause stress and anxiety. I also have neighbours who are persistently causing problems.

When you have those sort of issues going on, then you would hope that an online forum would be a safe space.

Unfortunately this isn’t the case.

It’s sad that certain people are conspicuous in their absence in this thread for a considerable length of time and when you return, they do.

Some people need to really question the way they behave.

Sorry to hear that.

Wasn't sure what you were talking about then I saw someone had replied to me in a thread I never posted in.

So ya, the stupid is strong with some people. Maybe they'll copy this post as well...

If memory serves, both "The Day of the Doctor" and "Dark Water/Death in Heaven" were screened in select cinemas in 3D back in the day.

"Back in the day"... It constantly amazes me how long we've had Doctor Who back. In rough equivalency terms, we're approximately at Tom Baker's last season in Classic Who. Granted, New Who has had extended downtimes here and there, and nowhere near the amount of episodes screened. But still, if you would have told younger-me in the mid-1990s, or even a few years after the McGann TV Movie, that we'd have Doctor Who back for over 18 years, with more to come, I would have NEVER have believed you in a trillion years. Never.

And holy cow, we've doubled the number of Doctors! 1-8, War, 9-15. Wow.

In the US, you had to act fast to snap up those tickets for the 3D showings, because they sold out fast.

Considering it's Doctor Who - shouldn't that have been in 4D???
