Fun but thin??

It's a cartoon based on a video game. I'm not expecting Plato.

I can't wait to see this one.

I heard that a Zelda movie is in the works.

Fun and light =/= mediocre

Just because something's fun and light, it doesn't mean that it shouldn't also be well done.

So far, the trailers have impressed me. I especially like the balance of comedy and danger that's been presented, with neither one going too far. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing this; hard to believe its less than a week away.

I posted this one in the Official Movie Ticket Cash thread in the Movie and TV Deals subforum, but since not everyone reads that subforum...

This sweeps ends very soon on April 2! (not an instant win)

Here's a sweepstakes for The Super Marios Bros Movie with really good odds (1,000 winners of a $15 Fandango code) with an AMOE entry form for a chance to win: https://shakeshack.com/shake-shack-t...-sweepstakes#/

(or you can order a 'Shroom burger from Shake Shack via their mobile app for a chance to win)

official rules: https://shakeshack.com/sites/default...0-%20Final.pdf

Oh well, hey there's always next time. At least it looks like Super Mario Bros.
No, but hopefully it's entertaining even if it has a thin story line like John Wick 4, which still turned out to be a hit.
Plus the critics aren't always right. Maybe they were looking for something very complex and wanted more story than action, forgetting that Super Mario Bros is a video game first, then story 2nd.

Other than ditching the regular Mario voice actor, this does look great.

Charles Martinet is in the cast. Reportedly he's voicing two different characters:

[Show spoiler]- Mario and Luigi's father

- Guiseppe, an unknown character

I think even with low ratings, this movie would still do well, just looking at how faithful the art style alone is. Then consider it's an Illumination Studios production, who do really well with their Minions films for those who enjoy those creatures.

I think it would depend on how easily they're scared by creatures such as Bowser, for example. If you really think your kid might not be best exposed to this, then do your job as a parent and keep them away from it.
