Default Sony Ericsson Aino Supports Remote Play

Quote:
Sony Ericsson just unveiled the world’s first phone to tap into the PS3 remotely. It uses the remote play function PSP owners will be familiar with, serving up photos, videos and music from the console at home, no matter where you are. Read on for all the details.

The Sony Ericsson Aino is a beautiful phone. Using both a touchscreen and keypad, it packs 3G skills, Wi-Fi and an 8 megapixel camera, but the real selling point is its ability to tap into the PS3 from afar.

Whether it’s using a Wi-Fi network or 3G, it can suck up video, photos or music using Wi-Fi or 3G. But that’s not all.

The Aino is also the first Sony Ericsson phone to come with a Wi-Fi dock included. Plonk the phone down and it’ll sync media from your PC wirelessly. It also comes with stereo Bluetooth headphones, also charging from the dock. It’s a swish little package and no mistake.
I expect there's more like this to come with Sony rolling out the PSN in some form across more products.

Default Remote Control your PS3 from anywhere...with your phone??

http://gizmodo.com/5272183/sony-eric...-from-anywhere

The New Sony Ericsson Aino allows you to control your PS3 from anywhere in the world over Wi-Fi or an internet connection.

Other features:
8 megapixel camera
Photo editing/video recording
3G GSM
3 inch screen

Will retail for $599 apparently and is supposed to be released at the end of this year.

I would LOVE a phone like this, that's a little steep for me though.

This is why I said in another post that I smell a new PSP coming with OLED screen.

That would be nice, I'm really interested in this phone though. It probably won't come to Canada for a few years (we have the worst phones, and the highest rates woohoo!!)

My wife and I were talking with a Verizon rep about when they'll get the iPhone (2010 or 2011) and my wife mentioned how she was fine with her blackberry 8830 until the iPhone was available on verizon in a year or two - then she joked how I'll have to get one too since I can't have a lesser techie gadget than her (she said it would drive me crazy).

My response was that by that time I may just be able to upgrade to a PSP phone based on the comments the Sony Erikson pres made - I'm begining to think that will be the reality. I don't really have a need to upgrade, so I bet in the next year or two we will really see some sort of psp-type phone.

That would be especially true if Sony buys Ericsson's shares.

Though what this probably means is that the Idou and most other smart SE phones will support remote play and have some access to PSN.
