The 'top owned' link under PS3 games doesn't show anything.

I hope some PSN games start getting added soon too

not sure how I could go about suggesting them when they don't exactly have product pages (well some might on Amazon's PSN store but not everything is for sale there)

Default Changing how the site tallies collections?

Has any consideration been put into changing how the site adds up peoples collection? I can understand counting TV seasons as 1 title, but things like the Die Hard set, LotR trilogy etc should be counted as multiple titles IMO.

This has been discussed before. I believe it was dropped or said no to.

Just add singles into your collection to have your total show up right. For example.

Instead of putting the Godfather trilogy in your collection, simply add The Godfather Collection (Representing III), The Godfather, and The Godfather II. That way your collection count will be right, or you can just put your correct total in your signature.

+1. My philosophy is that if it comes in a separate case, then it gets counted individually. I even put the Die Hard Collection and Rocky Collection in separate cases and then printed individual cover art for each movie, expanding two sets into 10 individual titles.

I'm not against listing them individually, but that's not always an option.

For example, there aren't even individual listings for the USA release of the Austin Powers movies.

And then there is the Matrix set. The only two movies that have options to list individually are The Matrix and The Matrix Reloaded. And that is only because they have had individual releases. But they don't really work well for representing what is in the Ultimate box set. The release dates on the individual releases are all wrong for representing the box set, and the first movie has completely different cover art on the individual release than in the set.

The Spider-Man Trilogy is a similar situation. The only USA listings for the first 2 movies are the upcoming "essentials" releases. Sure, it's the same disc content, but it has different release date info and doesn't technically represent what is included in the Trilogy set. Even the individual listing for Spider-Man 3 is somewhat inaccurate since it shows the individual release with slipcover, which the Trilogy set did not include the slipcover on it.

I can kind of understand not wanting to count the listing of a complete box set in someone's collection as multiple items/titles, but then there should be some way to more accurately list the individual items included in the set. Right now the options for that are limited, and it only seems to work for titles that are released individually and in a box set at the same time (and even then there can be discrepencies).

I don't see it as being any more or less important than having a collection tracking feature in the first place.

My point is that if the feature is even going to exist, it may as well give people an accurate way to detailing what they have in the collection with the proper count. A box set of 3 movies should not count as 1 title. And if the only way to get the accurate count is to list the movies individually, then there should be a specific effort put into making sure that individual listings exist and that they are accurate for the editions included in the box sets. If an individual release exists, but there is some difference (i.e. packaging for the movie, release date, etc), then there should be a separate listing for the version included in the box set.

You've got a good point, but still...
I see the Godfather collection as one item containing 3 movies and special features, so to me it counts as one on my collection. I mainly use the collection feature so others can get an idea what taste in movies I have, not to show how many I have. If that was the case, we could just have a number to show how many we have and nothing else.

I agree as well with Q! When there is a boxed set, it only counts as one title. It's one item when you buy it, it's a set they are together in unison.

I have the true count in my Sig. If I buy a box set then I add that to the collection & then add the number of disc's to my Sig. Problem solved
