First of all, we really don't know what Fortune Star has said. Shout told us what Fortune Star has said, but we can't really be sure whether it's true or not.
Secondly, regarding the Jackie Chan transfers that Fortune Star provided to Shout is not the same compared to the Bruce Lee transfers because there's no HD transfers available for them, but there are HD transfers available for the Bruce Lee movies - that's what's messed up about that release.

Yes, I should have stated that according to what Cliff wrote, FS said that they sent out to them the same HD masters that K&R received. But, as far as HD goes, didn`t Shout say that their JC releases - Police Story, Crime Story, etc were from HD sources sent by FS? It is frustrating that when there are HD masters we don`t get them but if there are no HD masters for the others then we have to take what we can get. Its been stated that FS had HD masters made of these movies a few years back in Canada. But, it makes me wonder what was really transferred to HD then.

sorry if I`m derailing the thread. I`m not trying to turn this into the BL Legacy Edition fiasco thread part 2.

Only the Bruce Lee movies were remastered in Canada. The Jackie Chan movies were never remastered in any way and therefore Shout couldn't have gotten HD masters

Thanks for the clarify on that issue. From the information that I had read, it sounded like they had done that for all the titles. Oh well.

My blu arrived. The picture quality is a major improvement over my old Columbia dvd. This is an night and day difference. Can`t tell if this is HD or upscale but it is an major improvement. Otherwise, this is the typical Kam & Ronson release with Cantonese DTS/HD MA 7.1 and Mandarin Dolby Digital Ex. As well, 1 trailer for the movie. This release contains the Goodyear Movie Company logo at the beginning. Can`t remember if the Columbia dvd featured it.

.. except City Hunter, which has an HD transfer.

By the way, is the Shout and HK BD transfer similar for City Hunter?

They didn't remaster City Hunter, they just had an HD transfer available. The US ans HK transfers are identical.

Glad you like it...has it got any new added sound effects do you know..
I had the Columbia dvd and my remastered HK Legends dvd is 10 times better than that also.

I could not tell if there were. But, I would need to sit down and put both movies on at the same time and compare. I guess I should have done that to begin with but I was working on a project and just had the blu playing in the PS3. I just wanted to see the visual. My guess is that they may have just spread the mono track around the audio field. But, I don`t have a surround setup so if there was something there I probably would not here it anyways. I guess that is why some of these blu rays released by K&R haven`t bothered me too much audio wise.

If you know the film well, then you can normally tell if there is added sound fx even without a surround sound set up, because its done so badly.

I probably do not know the audio soundtrack as well as I should. I only watched the Columbia disc once or twice when I first bought it. Haven`t seen it since until a couple weeks ago when I posted about how bad the quality of the disc looked. Then, I watched the blu when it arrived. But, I did not hear anything that seemed out of place.
