Fantastic soundtrack for Halo fans, or even soundtracks fans in general you can easily take a listen on Spotify if you care to try it out, and the is a ridiculous sale place, when msrp was $49.99, not sure if amazon price glitch or if they are just trying to clear them out, but definitely snap this up.

And just so everyone is aware amazon goofed on the image they are showing the standard album art, but the standard album is listed separately here for $18.88

Enjoy!

Some how I completely missed the news about this version of the release. I couldn't find any information about the audio type of the 5.1 soundtrack (i.e. PCM, Dolby TrueHD or dts-HD MA) and after watching that unpacking video I see that it's Dolby TrueHD but very disappointing only 13 songs were mixed in 5.1. Out of 39 total songs that really blows. I don't even know why they bothered. Talk about a let down.

As compensation, they did drop it down to $14.93

Where are you seeing this new for that price? On Amazon Canada it's like $70.

Nice I heard they may** have for some reason pulled down the website for redeeming the "bonus tracks, if they have just pm me and Ill try and shoot you a link to them.

Im guessing since your in Canada you did not get the free amazon digital download copy either, since generally those kinds of things are regionally locked.

Ah I never thought about that. Yeah you are probably right, I probably won't be able to get the digital copies.

Is the digit copy for all songs or only a limited set like the Blu-ray or vinyl? Also what format, mp3 or something much better, like high res FLAC, AAC or WAV?

Amazon gives 256 CBR MP3s, just as an instant download to listen/stream so you don't have to wait for cd, or rip the cds.

The bonus code provides two tracks not on the CD or vinyl, those are both 320 Kbps

If you want FLAC going to have to rip yourself from CD.

Vinyl is just a subsection of tracks from the full score, on the CD.

$30-35
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...n=new&qid=&sr=

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Neil-Davidge...oAAOSwpDdVY6GM

The original publisher seems to have discontinued listing it on their website.

There was a small time where it was $25+shipping and you got set + a tshirt.

That listing seems to have ended though on both amazon and publishers site.

---

If you want a download deal, amazon, iTunes have them for $10 regularly.

Also realize Vol 2. tracks are digital release ONLY, there never was a disc or vinyl print.

If your local library supports freegal (not sure if in Canada) Then you can get 256 MP3 CBR download copies for free for both Vol 1 and 2, but you have to download it 5 tracks a week, not to bad when its free

Hope that helps

Thanks

I just ordered the one up on EBay. ImportCD's was also in the Amazon.com list of sellers as well as in my Amazon.ca list. It was actually cheaper to order from ImportCD's through EBay vs either of the Amazon's. Amazon.com had added quite a bit for their shipping price for external sellers and Amazon.ca's base price was a bit higher again. I'll save appx. $10 by going through EBay.

What's the reference to Vol.2 and the digital tracks? In looking at the contents, there is the standard CD, a CD of remixes and a 70 minute DVD plus a picture disc I think.

Volume 2 was a bunch of tracks released after this set digitally only.

There was a short period of time when you bought this set they would give a free download for vol 2.

If you want flac quality I'm sure there is a flac retailer.

Also before your order ships, check price when you order directly from their website

Ah, I didn't realize there was a companion release. Thanks for the info.

Also thinks for the direct link to ImportCDs. I checked it out and even though the base price is a bit cheaper than was on EBay (still not quite as cheap as Amazon.com) the shipping is somehow quite a bit more, similar to what it was for Amazon.com but $2 more. Weird that the shipping prices are all over the place ranging from $3.49 CAD on Amazon.ca to $16.99 USD on ImportCDs. EBay was $4.99 USD while Amazon.com was $14.95 USD.

Thanks

I came across that website yesterday while poking around for FLAC versions as HDTracks, AsousticSounds and Pro Studio Master don't carry the Halo soundtracks.

The purchasing aspect seems to be through Topspin which I believe I have purchased from before for some band's album directly from the band's official website. I can't remember who though.

I have dbpoweramp so I convert all my CD's to FLAC so it's nice that I'll be able to get equivalent quality version of Vol. 2.

aahhh nuts! The North America site throws an error saying"document.write('This item is no longer available.\n'); ". When selecting Europe you can still place an order but when I get to the country drop down Canada is of course not an option. I tried the World site but it's down.

This is lame. It's odd that it is still available in one region but not in others. This was the same for the main soundtrack. You can still get to the boxset ordering page but it says it's out of stock.
