Default Will format neutral members continue buying hd dvd now that Warner has switched?

The only hd dvd that i want that is coming out is American Gangster. Just wondering how many of the format neutral members will continue to buy hd dvds from Universal or paramount if they continue to put them out?

well i started out blu at the end of July of this year. when amazon had the hd dvd player plus TWELVE free hd dvds one day i had to jump on it. the fact is that i wanted the bourne's, the matrix, v for vendetta (the most!), and many other hd dvd exclusive titles. as you can see from my signature, i own 45 blus and 30 hd dvds. however, i am preparing to sell ALL of my warner hd dvds and pick up the blu ray versions (and it won't be too much a loss because i got all the bournes, v, batman, and a bunch of others free with the 180 dollar HDA2)...once i hear the release info of course. i can't wait to replace the hideous maroon matrix cases. ugh.

however, with regard to the origninal post question, i have not seen any upcoming releases for hd dvd that i really do want, so i doubt i will be getting any. however, if universal stays hd dvd exclusive, i have no doubt they will barrage us with pretty good titles. if that is the case, i will probably pick them up, because i am keeping my current collection of hd dvds that are universal/paramount. it will be however 15 or so compared to 30. and the blu ray total will go up.

you know, i only went format neutral, because i did NOT EXPECT warner to do this so early, and i doubt ANY of u did. i'm kind of upset i got into hd dvd for all those warner titles, but i enjoyed them while i had them. and you know what, 12 free hd dvds with a player WAS a great deal.

once the war is finished (a year or so i now think), i will still have a good upconverting dvd player for one of my tvs. and i think even when they release in blu, some titles i will just keep in maroon sadly, because i cant justify a repurchase. i like them, but they look great on hd dvd anyway (specifically fast and furious 1-3, children of men, transformers)...

lol, now all these complicatiuons of war asre pretty much gone! hopefully, this warner decision WILL end the war. though i really think universal will not go neutral. but we will find out very soon.

They'd be stupid to keep purchasing future coasters. At best, if they want to keep their players, they should only rent.

I was thinking the same thing. Although, if that doesn't happen I probably won't buy anymore HD DVD's, unless something drastic happens with the war which is very unlikely.

i think that this move ends any further dealing with HDDVD for me.
At this time now, it would only be holding out a lifeline. the sooner we abandone HDDVD the quicker the titles come to blu ray.

Its as simple as that, why spite my own face, Things just took a majour turn.

I think after yesterdays news, there is no point in buying ANY more hd dvd's, ever. Not sure there is any point in selling off movies/players either, they still work like JVC D-VHS and D-Theater tapes plus those still record too.

It was a great day for HD Optical and all of us.
