You sure the second mail wasn't for the season 14 set?

I got two mails from Evil Inc too, the first said delayed until March 30th, the second said delayed until March 31st. Nothing about May. Weird.

Nope I got that e-mail to say season 14 was delayed until 11th and 12th on Wednesday. Today I have one for for Season 12 as well for the same date. All rather curious I would say.

Some happy bloke from GallifreyBase enjoying his newly opened collection.

I dunno how the Restoration Team might feel about things but I'm glad the Associate Professor of Philosophy at Oxford hired by the BBC to oversee all this stuff is keeping himself busy.

Your hotlinked picture isn't displaying for me/anyone else without a GB account.
Also I'm not particularly fond of that "special needs" remark.

Fine until the dawn of realisation that he has season 10 discs

If they produced large quantities then as with every non limited edition release, many would remain unsold in warehouses and have to be discounted say to £20 to clear the stock.

The BBC don't want this as many would wait for future discounts as they already have the shows on DVD. This way it's pay the £40 or lose out, so it panics people to buy at that price. Plus you build a collectors mentality, common in DW fans of once you have one you want them all and the only way to be certain to get them all is to buy day 1 at full price.
Yes, but i think what shadow was wondering (and so am i) is why is it one rule for the UK and another for the US? The US customers aren't having to panic-buy limited editions. Why not?

It's astonishing how much of a botch job most of this range has been.
That S12 set containing S10 discs is painful to see.

Is there anything the BBC can't f**k up at this point?

Got the email from Amazon last night; the BBC have messing up Doctor Who Blu's since the 50th Anniversary box set (where the Day of the Doctor discs had to be replaced). Absolute shambles.

Even earlier, those Torchwood blu-ray releases were absolutely disgusting.

The range hasn't been the car crash some are suggesting.

Season 12 however seems utterly cursed.

If you add the scarcity of most of the releases, to the probable inevitability of future f**k-ups with delays and exchanges given how many Doctor Who collectors editions fare these days, it seems like less of a headache to just skip the whole line. So good - now I have more cash over the next couple of years for Arrow titles.

If they’d just chucked in deluxe packaging for the Limited versions, plus maybe bonus discs (ie A DAY WITH TOM, spend two hours down at the pub with everyone’s favourite Doc and watch Baker get p*ssed in real time) these releases would have been a number one priority and I’d be saving and making space on the shelf. The way things are going now though I’m not going to bother. It’s like they’re trying to outdo the dumb behaviour of Bill from Code Red or something.

I'll bet the S14 set will get royally f**ked up with the Talons disc.

50 new CGI effects shots. Revenge has less, and that was botched.
