Email the BBC with a receipt of your purchase, I assume are you can still get the corrected discs. I know I ended up receiving two sets of correct discs for some bizarre reason.

For the both of you, send an email to DVDSupport@bbc.com, tell them what happened and include a scan or screengrab of the receipt. Now I can't guarantee that they still have the correct discs left, but like I mentioned in my previous post, I ended up with two corrected sets (just the discs btw, not full sets) since they ended up sending me a second time two months later for some reason. There's always a chance that they still have some copies left.

Luckily the content is correct, so you can at least watch the stories. But I know the feeling considering I was kind of bummed myself with the incorrect discs. Best of luck getting the corrected discs!

I think you get a quickish auto reply. then you'll get a real one soon after in my experience. Nice people. Quickly fixed an issue with a clueless courier that had misplaced my package too.

Got a reply;

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch. I appreciate your frustration with this defect, and I can confirm we have not reprinted any sets and so this error originates via original stock from the March release. Retailers should have destroyed these defective sets and so we are investigating as to how these have been made available.

With that in mind, I can confirm we are still able to issue correctly printed replacements. I have made note of your details for next week’s send out.

I hope this was a clerical error and not a money-grabbing exercise, selling an extra set or two which should have been destroyed.

I bought a set off of eBay that has the season 10 art. I've emailed BBC, hopefully they will send the replacement discs out...

Excellent news. Will be interesting to see how this plays into how quickly the limited editions sell-out from now on. Having a three year gap, and keeping the same price, may certainly factor into whether people are willing to wait that long versus buying the limited release at launch.

-----------------------------------------
And I think we might have another animation to be announced soon. There's a two-release gap in what is otherwise a solid wall of Who releases in the BBC catalogue...

Code:
0517	Doctor Who - Series 7 (Steelbook) 14 December 2020
0518	Doctor Who - Time Lord Victorious 9 November 2020

0520	Doctor Who - The Collection - Season 24 (Limited)	TBC
0521	Doctor Who - The Web of Fear TBC
0522	Doctor Who - The Web of Fear (Steelbook) TBC

0525	Doctor Who - Series 8 (Steelbook) 19 April 2021

Good! These were way too limited which also caused needless stress as everyone was biting their nails if a retailer let them down and the scalpers always swooped in. I have them all thanks to the season 12 reissue, but I'm very happy for everyone else they can get these again.

I wish they’d all been released in ‘normal’ boxes from the beginning. Always feel like I’m going to damage the limited ones

Well it's nice that the SEs retain the look and style of the LEs - the blue banner being the only standout. Let's hope they're the same height!

They won't be, because the LEs are taller than a standard BD case (closer to DVD case height)... even with the slipcover on the SEs, they'll be shorter!

No matter, I guess. Just so glad I'll be able to get (I assume) season 10 without having to pay a three figure sum!

According to Richard Bignell on Twitter these regular releases were never in the planning until recently, because they weren't sure this range would succeed. At which point, I really have some questions how they approached this range to begin with.
I understand that the Limited Edition nature was a sure fire way to have these sell, but that there were no future plans about how, when or even if these normal releases would happen...

Which just boggles my mind, I understand that they might have been worried about the potential of these. But after all these years, the mess they've been to get a hold on because of their exclusively limited nature and multiple reprints... I honestly just can't wrap my head around how they approached this...

Very glad they are re-releasing these, will these "new" editions have all the same extras/bonuses as the LE versions? Or will there be any substantial differences aside from the difference in the case sizes?

The discs (other than the new rating on the disc art) will be identical to the already released material. Confirmed by Chris Chapman on Twitter.
