Default Looks like Blu-ray can win yet another week in the Nielsen numbers...

DVDEmpires number for the week of August 28 are up. It's the week with two exlusive day-and-dates releases (Heroes and BoG) for HD-DVD and three more exclusive cataloge titles for HD-DVD (Dawn of the Dead, The Hurricane and Notting Hill) compared to Blu-rays ZERO releases...

This did not help HD-DVD. It got still outsold on DVDEmpire that usally is a little bit slated towards HD-DVD. The site is very small and far from the whole market but it's interesting to see how the Nielsen numbers compares to the numbers from DVDEmpire. Here is the graphs for the DVDEmpire numbers:

Source: http://www.dvdempire.com/Content/Fea...99365930685895

The first graph show that DVDEmpire and Nielsen usually are pretty close. If wrong, most times DVDEmpire have overestimated the HD-DVD numbers...

That's really interesting. Hopefully it holds true for the Nielson's.

I know I did my part last week and bought some older releases.

I noticed that Amazon, DVD empire, and DVD planet are out of stock on many Paramount titles. I think there was a run on the 32 Paramount/Dream Works titles that went out of print on BLU-RAY.

I'm predicting HD DVD's first win by Nielsen count this year when we get the data on Friday. We'll see.

Bluray should win again. BOG had such a poor showing on Amazon, and Heros is kind of expensive for some. It will be closer than usual, but BD should win again.

My attach rate is 80:1. Some of those lazy-ass PS3 owners need to get off the couch and order some movies!

I got an attach rate of 10 per month. But remember Toshiba says PS3 owners are not Blu-ray movies customers. I must have missed that page in the instructions.

Wait! My PS3 can play BDs? Damn it, that makes my attach rate 40:1. I hate statistics. BDA just lost again.

I really hope this is true for the Nielson numbers as well, I thought HD-DVD would take that week, but if Blu-Ray wins, BD is unbeatable at the moment.

Just Transformers and Shrek to beat now

Oh and im a PS3 owner, more of a gamer than a movie buff yet I own around 20 BDs and will extend that to 30-40 later this year.

Lazy-ass? More like broke-ass. I'd buy all the available Blu-Ray's if I had the cash.

If HD DVD couldn't win on their one year anniversary, they won't win this Friday with Blades of Glory and Heroes.

No sir.

It was typed with love. I just got a PS3 yesterday. It's sitting by my standalone player now running folding for the blu-ray.com team.

This week and Transformers + 11 days would be about the only chances they have this year.

I was figuring a few months ago Heroes made it a lock, but the pre-order ranking numbers were TERRIBLE on Amazon.com. It spent months way above 100, and only really roared up after the reviews came out.

Default Blu-ray better win!!

Blu-ray better win, I have a laptop with a blu-ray computer, just got a Blu-ray player and 25 Blu-ray movies. I know some of you guys have a whole lot more BD's than I do, but I'm growing my collection weekly.

Let's continue supporting Blu-ray. Remember September the 18th!!!

Bought my PS3 on Aug 2, 2007. I'll have 24 blu-rays when my 5 free come in. I'm an addict. Told myself a few days ago that I was going to take a break from buying blu-rays and have ordered 3 since then.

I think they will beat SI for the first time since April.

I don't think they will get over 50% though. I am guessing around 55%.

We shall see in a couple of days I guess!
