I'd recommend it. I loved it the first time I saw it, and it stayed that way when I rewatched it several times. It's nothing like Jackson's prior horror work, or latter big budget work, so it's really hard to compare it with anything. If you like intense and personal dramas, then you can't go wrong with the movie. I don't know how the Blu-ray is gonna turn out, though.

It's too bad we never got a review of the good discs from the UK release. I really like that packaging and, while I don't usually care about things that come with a movie, the postcards seem really nice for this type of release.

But I'll be getting the U.S. version. No slip, right?

Good thing that it's the uncut version.

The UK one is the preferred cut of Jackson but I wanted to see the uncut version for a long time

Can anyone confirm what the 'unrated' part brings to the table?

Is this actually a previously unreleased version, or is it basically the version we have seen in Australia since its release?

I will never forget spending a fortune on the Basic Instinct Uncut Director's Cut on Laserdisc only to find that it was still slightly cut from the standard version we always had avaialble in Aus!

Amazon.ca has Heavenly Creatures: Uncut - 15th Anniversary Edition (DVD + Blu-ray Combo Pack) available. Released Dec. 6, 2011 by Alliance Films.

Is this the same quality as the the Miramax Lionsgate one. Released Dec. 13, 2011?

I know there was a previous release in Canada Sept. 7 2010 that was done in 1080i, a stereo 2.0 track and the cropping was incorrect.

A quick look over at dvdcompare.net shows several different runtimes over several regions ranging from 99 to 109 minutes. I have never seen the theatrical cut, but 10 minutes does not seem like to much difference IMO.

Is this being re-released, like so many other titles, with a UV code in February? It says so on this website, but with 2 weeks to go, it also shows no pre-order. Also, when I look for this title on Amazon, the only thing I can find is one with a photo that clearly also shows the UV logo. I can't find the original release there at all.

I'm really confused...

Thanks for any help.

Heavenly Creatures is one of the most underrated, hypnotising thrillers I've seen and is easily one of the greatest 1990s films. For those who love crime or just a generally great motion picture, this is right up your ally. It may also appeal to horror fans too.

I am posting this because this film deserves to be seen.

It's a great film.

The US disc is easily the way to go.

The Picture quality on the UK disc is awful. I think there's comparisons at capsaholic.
