I was thinking he meant the week ending 12/31, although I now realize that is a Monday and he may not have meant the week that includes the sales the days right after Christmas. As far as the week with the sales just post Christmas, there should be some carryover from the 2 day-and-date movies HD DVD has on Sunday, the 23rd. If releases don't change Blu-ray should really kill for the week starting 12/31, which should reset the YTD numbers. By the end of January Blu-ray will probably have a big YTD lead, unless the HD DVD side starts announcing some good titles for January. Maybe part of their plan is to be so far behind in YTD by the end of January that it will make it easy to brag about how much improvement they made later in 2008.

Thats it. I'm going to get myself a PS3. Does purchasing the gaming system help Blu in anyway even if I don't use it for playing movies on? Also, is the 80 gig available now? should I wait or does it not really matter?

i dont see a reason to get an 80gb isnt it just compatible with ps2 games (why the hell not just play the piecer ps2 games on the ps2 instead of buying a ps3 to play them) and you can get a different hd anyway..40gb is cheaper and consumes less power/quieter i think thats what i would buy if i were you
